Stayed here for 2 weeks while visiting family in Ottawa. Our top priority for choosing this campground was FHU. Few in Ottawa area have septic hookups. After a bad experience last year in Ottawa we were pleasantly surprised at the overall condition of Camping Cantley! Large campground with plenty of shade. Sites are close but no problem parking our truck at the site. Restrooms were dated but acceptable. Showers were small so we opted to use the shower in our trailer. No off leash area for dogs but... Stayed here for 2 weeks while visiting family in Ottawa. Our top priority for choosing this campground was FHU. Few in Ottawa area have septic hookups. After a bad experience last year in Ottawa we were pleasantly surprised at the overall condition of Camping Cantley! Large campground with plenty of shade. Sites are close but no problem parking our truck at the site. Restrooms were dated but acceptable. Showers were small so we opted to use the shower in our trailer. No off leash area for dogs but lots of space to walk pets. Large pond in center with ducks and geese so watch your step in the grassy areas. Two pool / playground areas at opposite corners of park. Grounds were generally very clean. Lots of children but well behaved. There are security gates at entrance and exit that require a code to operate the gate. There were several days when the gates were not working, perhaps due to a few power outages. Eventually they just left the exit gate in the open position. This caused issues trying to re-enter the entry gate which was still working. Punching in your code would not open gate since no code was punched in at open exit gate causing the computer to have no record of you departing the campground, therefore, it would not let you back in. This caused me to have to walk back to the entry office and have them reset the code so I could get back in. Particularly irritating on rainy days. We would return to Camping Cantley again as it was the nicest park we have stayed at in the Ottawa area.
