The road to and inside the campground is horrible. Lots of pot holes, etc. The water is not fit to drink, do your dishes in or anything else. I don't understand how they can stay open with the water they have in the campground. I would never have picked this place to stay had I have known the condition of the road and the water issue.!!

Very disappointed. The website is very deceiving and the pictures are very old. Very disappointing as we were hoping to make it a base camp for many trips into Chicago to visit family. You can tell the campground at one time was very nice. It lacks a lot of TLC. When we arrived on site, the website states "paved roads." They are paved alright, with very big pot holes. The owner stated she did not want any parking on the grass. The grass was very long at our site, with long clippings everywhere,... Read More

You can tell the campground at one time was very nice. It lacks a lot of TLC. When we arrived on site, the website states "paved roads." They are paved alright, with very big pot holes. The owner stated she did not want any parking on the grass. The grass was very long at our site, with long clippings everywhere, from a previous mowing. I considered that a joke after I saw the poor up-keep of the lots. The water was discolored, so we only used bottled water. The lake had a lot of scum on it. Cable is not available, the store manager said it hasn't worked in years. WI-FI was spotty at best. Everything that was advertised was false. The price $63.00 with my Good Sam discount. NO REFUNDS are clearly stated at check-in. I can see why because "most people would pack up and leave after the first night." Very sad to write this review, as it is my first review ever of a campground.

We stayed here for 10 days over the labor day week (unfortunately). They do not accept credit cards and do not send out reservation confirmation. On arrival they charged us a few dollars more than our phone quote which was was made in June for a September arrival. After we were set up on our site we got a call telling us to return to the office before closing that day because they did not charge us for one day and we owed more. After we were set up on our site we got a call telling us to return to the office before closing that day because they did not charge us for one day and we owed more. Without a confirmation it's hard to dispute the quoted price and we ended up paying $60 more then our original phone quote. Our site and the area around us looked like it had not been mowed for a couple of weeks, after they mowed we had piles of grass all around our site. WiFi is non existent even in the dog park next to the office. The roads are full of pot holes connected together by asphalt. The water smells and tastes bad, our dogs wouldn't even drink it, so we used bottled water. We would not recommend staying here even though it has very convenient access to I90.

First, they don,t accept credit cards (?), only cash or check. After partial setup we discovered the electrical outlet had burned out. Man came today with industrial size lawnmower and cut even under our awning which caused wet grass to be tracked into our camper! We are leaving in the AM, thank goodness. My husband went and talked to the office manager and she was very rude. All this place cares about is $$$$$$, not the customer.

Advertised cable. But no cable. When I called she said she would call maintenance. No one ever showed. Internet was so weak could not join. Cash only but took my credit card in case I did not show and then they would charge my card so obviously they took cards. What do you suppose they did with the cash????? Lots of road side noise. Lake is only for owners not overnighter. We did not use the bathrooms, shower or laundry.

The facility was not at all like the pictures found on line. The lake was weedy, the beach looked unused and many RVs and campers on the property were unkept. There was garbage piled up at the playground trash can. We requested a full hook up site and were later told we could only have electric and water if we arrived after 7pm. We learned this when we called to be polite as we determined we would arrive after 7pm. Then it was too late to find another place to stay for the night. They did... Read More

This is a rural campground outside of Chicago. Had a 36 ft. Class A motor home while there. Staff was friendly and very responsive to our requests. Laundry facilities were clean and inexpensive. There is a large lake for fishing. Maintenance staff was out working every day to keep the campground clean. Lots of families with children were present every day.

This park is in rural Chicago - and it is exactly what you would expect for a country campground. Staff at park was friendly and responsive to our requests. Two small ponds and one large lake for fishing. Campground workers were out every day maintaining the grounds. Laundry facility was clean but didn't use the restrooms.

I hate having to make critical reviews. Have no idea why the rating is listed as 8/10/8.5. 5/8/5 would be more accurate. The place (at least for the one-night-stay folks) is a veritable mud puddle with huge water-filled pot holes on the roads. We had to drive thru them because the site guide got confused and took us on a long trek to our site thru all the holes. Had to carry my little dog to a clean space to walk him because the grounds is covered in goose feces! Place appears to have a good many... Read More

Website photos show only the nicest aspects near the lake and trees. Bathroom was very clean. Laundry okay, small.

Horrible experience. First, only RV park I've ever seen that won't take Visa - cash or check only. But the real problem was when we tried to hook up. We were assigned a full service pull-thru site. After parking the RV, setting the levelers, hooking up elec, water, and sewer, and opening the slider, I open the black tank valve and find out their sewer line is plugged. Called them - no answer. Walked 200 yds to office to explain - they sent a maintenance guy 30 minutes later. He couldn't fix... Read More

Walked back to the office - they said they'd send someone out to the site to tell me where to move to. 20 minutes later, someone arrives assigns us another site, and leaves. I unhook, bring in the slider, raise the levelers, move to the new site, and reverse the process. During the entire 90 minute ordeal, not a word of apology. Their attitude was unbelievable. Stuff happens, but it's the way it's handled that defines the service level. At this place, the service level is 1. I'd never stay here again.

We spent two nights there, The name is misleading and this is Not a Resort by any definition. All the sites around the lake are seasonal sites in a gated area. If your stopping there short term you will be in a field, think cow pasture! They advertise Free WiFi but it won't stay connected for more than 30 seconds. Their cable was broken and said they were working on it but never saw a cable truck around. There is no pool only a small lake with a beach but the water is putrid and stagnate. I would... Read More

Last night we spent a night at a really beautiful Resort in Wisconsin for the same price.Unless you are a one night stopover Don't waste you time or money. We've been RVing for 20 yrs and this would rate among the worst!

Be prepared for flooded sites if it rains. Long story short, even though our site was nice and I met a few nice people here, I wouldn't recommend this place.

The staff was too busy to help you, there was a $300 charge added to your monthly fee ( not advertised ) but was returned when you left, there is also a $65 monthly charge if you have a trailer. lot size is big and well kept, electric needs updating we lost power 3 times and had 2 power surges. Roads need repair. over all not bad but expensive electric alone was over $150 for the month.

It is a nice sight for getting away from the electronic world. However the Good Sam add is miss leading. My stay was 2 months. Here are issues: 1. They don't accept credit cards as advertised; cash or check. 2. They require a $300 CASH deposit and is not used to apply against your final bill but returned to you in form of check from park. 3. There is NO reliable wi-fi or cable. In 60 days only worked 3 days.
