There is a truck stop right next to the campground. Had a difficult time trying to sleep. The diesel truck directly behind us ran from 3pm when we got there until 1am. When the truck was leaving kept hearing the back up beeps for another 10 minutes. The website advertises cable which there isn't. Could not access the WiFi either. I also had to go back to the office to get the bathroom code. Was not given at check in. Lucky I did because the attendant left and no management on sight. It was only... Read More

Lucky I did because the attendant left and no management on sight. It was only $30 which I gladly would have paid more to get a decent nights sleep. Website pictures are misleading, no mention of the constant noise from the trucks. Road coming in is very bumpy.

Lovely shade trees, loads of green and grass and amazingly few bugs. It poured down rain while I was here and the place handled it admirably. All Gravel and grass, some of the sites are not level. This one is. Elect/water was fine. I did not look at the bathroom. No one in the office except first thing in the am, so it's cash/checks in the box. They have the rates on the door. I liked that cuz I got to wander around and find the best site (think Goldilocks and the Three Bears). Then I slapped a "Reserved" sign on the power box, went up and paid, then went looking at plantations. Subway, Burger King and a little Mexican restaurant within easy walking distance. Since no one was in the office, and the phone number was specifically for "emergencies only," I was unable to get the wi-fi code. That was kinda annoying. So I took off a star.

Arrived after dark and surprised to find no lighting, not even in the sign, making it tough to find from the road. This park is set back off the highway and is quite dark at night. No cable and poor digital antenna reception, so a dish would be helpful for a longer stay. We were only there for a night and it was adequate for a stop over. We didn't use any of the facilities, so can't comment on those. Some added exterior lighting would be a plus.

Very friendly, Great cable, & sewage, A good place to pull off of the Interstate and stay. Very convenient to Northwestern State University.
