I just returned from a three night stay and will never go back. My campsite was in the wooded section, site very unlevel and difficult to back into, and I can back a trailer. Many permanent campers, most of the campers that arrived for the weekend seemed to be regulars. Friday and Saturday had many golf carts roaming the campground, flying the confederate battle flag (stars and bars), LED lights attached and flashing multi colors. Friday and Saturday had many golf carts roaming the campground, flying the confederate battle flag (stars and bars), LED lights attached and flashing multi colors. Music blaring from golf carts and campsites, don't how many times I heard Dueling Banjo's (which I happen to like). One of the long termer's must go to work at 3AM, in a very load truck, every day. I love the area, the country side is beautiful. If your looking for a place to hang out with your buddies, drink, sit around the campfire and listen to music a little to loud, then this is your place. If your looking for a quiet weekend getaway then you probably need to pass on by.

This place has really gone down! We stayed a few years ago in the fall and wanted to go back for the pool and water slides. Huge mistake! They no longer have ANY wifi service at all, paddle boats are not there any longer (btw..both are still listed on website). The bath house was filthy and the pool was completely green! You couldn't even see the bottom. I asked and about the pool and was told it was safe to swim in. Really?? Not a chance my kids were getting in that pool! Customer service is lacking... Read More

We stayed at this campground for 3 nights in April. We were parked in the lower campground which is all pull thrus. There are trees on the sites, but they are still currently pretty small. Eventually they will give nice shade. There is a trail near this side of the park that we walked the dog on which was nice. The upper campground is much more established with trees, etc. The bathrooms are clean as well as the showers and laundry room. They have a huge game room that goes out to the pool... Read More

Since we were there in April, the pool area was not yet open, but looks like it would be fun. The game room is huge, they have a lot of activities and it is a very geared towards families. It also has a snack bar/restaurant in that building. It was not open since the season hadn't started, so not sure how the food is. We have sprint phone service, so had no cell service, but that is not uncommon in the blue ridge mountains. My understanding is that verizon works fine there. The wifi throughout the park was not working great, but they said that they were trying to get the internet company out there to fix it. The wifi did work in the store and game room area, so we did sit up there for awhile to work. The cable tv did work, a couple of the channels were fuzzy, but that's not super important to us. If you are going with kids and need to be "connected" all the time, you might have issues unless you have your own verizon hot spot. If you are bringing kids and want them to disconnect, this place has plenty for them to do! We camped here in a 40' 5th wheel and are full time rvers.

We just left this place this morning after a 5 day stay. Most of the RV sites are in a valley. Many of the sites "above" are permanent residents or RV's that look long term. The park (NOT a resort) is geared toward children, which we didn't realize, apparently. Wifi is free, yet not useable at all unless we hiked up to the clubhouse/pool. Usually park Wifi is not great, but this didn't work at all and our cell signal was next to nonexistent, so couldn't even use our hot spot. Even at the clubhouse... Read More

We lost electricity 3 times, and the last time was in the evening and we got no response when we called after hours number. Luckily, it came back on just before we went to bed so we didn't suffocate with the heat and humidity. When we opened our tanks, the vile smell that permeated our coach was horrible. That never happened to us before. There is really nothing to do in the area, other than visit Mt. Airy, which we did. We did not feel comfortable or settled in this park, and we're very happy to leave. Even our dog got depressed.

We have a 35' travel trailer. We asked them to recommend a site when booking. Site was very uneven and difficult to get in to. They open pools to the public from 10-5 each day for a fee. They remain open to campers until 8,but water slides close at 6. No lifeguards or supervision. It was very crowded and we could not enjoy ourselves. Too many unsupervised kids doing whatever they wanted - running, throwing balls in pool, having chicken fights, shooting water guns. Can't bring your own golf cart,... Read More

Can't bring your own golf cart, but you can rent, if one is available (which there weren't the entire time we were there - 4 days). Golf carts were not supervised either. We saw young children driving them. Can't bring your own firewood - can only buy firewood from their camp store. TV was fuzzy and wifi was not working. Definitely not worth the money. It seems that they are only interested in making a buck. We won't be going back.

We rented their largest cabin for 4 nights and it was the worst experience we have ever had at an RV park. The cabin had the following problems: Dead TV, Un-watchable cable tv (after replacing tv, snowy picture), leaking sink, stopped up shower, broken toilet flush handle, wore out beds and sagging futon couch. The WiFi never worked during out stay. The staff was rude when we complained and were informed that they would refund remaining fees and we could leave. We were changed full prime season... We were changed full prime season prices plus a per person fee. None of the facilities amenities were available (closed for the season). The Goodsams rating is way off and they should check on this place again. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Cable TV did not work. WIFI did not work. Ended up leaving before we even got fully set up.

We spent 2 days and 3 nights at this lovely campground. Our site was shady and always had a gently breeze which made the time very enjoyable. The only advice I could offer is ask for an escort to your site to assure not having to back up as some of the turns are sharp and a bit hard to maneuver. But even with the difficulty in finding our site, we will certainly return!
