Here's the deal, we enjoyed our stay. The bathrooms are really clean. And seemingly never ending hot water. (thank you lawd!). The spots are close together, obviously they're trying to get as many paying customers in there as they can. Can't blame them because the overhead for operating a campground isn't low. These folks don't drive Lambo's and Ferrieri's. I've paid half the price for much larger spots spaced further apart, but I had to fight off giant bugs in the shower! Would you like to... Read More

Then pay a little extra, don't fight giant bugs, sit on a clean toilet and watch an episode from your favorite show.

We really enjoyed our stay at the campground. It was very well maintained and the staff was very helpful. Close proximity to the area attractions. We will definitely be back.
Highly recommend! We traveled from Florida and arrived here early afternoon. Check in was a breeze and the staff was extremely helpful. She made some recommendations to us during check in on things to do and our escort to our spot made backing in our 43ft 5th wheel a breeze. The grounds are well maintained and very clean. Our kids spent their time at the campground up at the park playing with the other kids there, everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly. We’ve already told our friends and... Read More

Stayed at this campground last week, and they never disappoint. Very friendly people, well maintained and clean! When I am in the area, this is my go to campground!
Cramped parking lot with trees directly on a very busy noisy road and nothing much more. Sites have zero privacy and are very close, so if your neighbor is burning wood for a campfire your RV will be overwhelmed by smoke and you will be unable to open any windows. The fire ring in the site next to us was approximately two feet from our bedroom window and about five feet from our LP Gas tank! Smoke pored into our trailer like it was on fire! The picnic table for our site was literally on the edge of their road and stepping off the bench would be directly in the path of any vehicle exiting the park. Noise from the road is non-stop assault of trucks, motorcycles and cars speeding by. Management is totally clueless and apparently disillusioned that the sites are not tight and blames the newer RV's as being bigger than many years ago when the park was built. I suppose the fact that they are spaced inches apart doesn't contribute to this problem according to them.
In our opinion it is overpriced and not worth what we paid for it.
It is much further away from Gatlinburg village then would would have preferred as well.

After staying one night at an AWFUL, cramped RV "park" in Pigeon Forge, Smoky Bear Campground came through and accommodated us for 4 days. The lady we called was SUPER nice and told us we could come any time we liked instead of waiting for the posted check-in time. We checked in and realized the electric hookup was 50 amp only, but I didn't have a 50 amp cable. I went to the office and asked if they sold an adapter, but they said, "Don't buy one, here - use ours. Just return it when you leave."... Read More

Just return it when you leave." Really?? The campground, by volume, was small - maybe 50 sites, so it was quiet, especially in the evenings. The campsites were adequate, which means we were able to setup a table, a grill and a line to hang our wet clothes on. There was a nice new-ish picnic table with a fire ring nearby.
The campers were respectful and obeyed the rules of the campground. We have 4 kids and they LOVED hanging out in the pool, of which they were the only swimmers. The campground is about 30 minutes or so from Pigeon Forge (Dollywood, specifically), which we visited by RV for 2 days. The owners are RVers and they knew the area very well and directed us on a very cool hike. Honestly, I grew up camping (versus "glamping") and was used to large campsites with ample trees between each site, which this campground fell a bit short. But, our neighbors were certainly far enough away and for RVers, it had some of the bigger sites we've stayed at.
It's very weird that we actually got to know the owners, so I want to say thank you to "Mom and Dad". We had a WONDERFUL time at your campsite. THANK YOU!

Not sure how they got the high ratings. Probably 1/4 of sites are too slanted for A or C RVs. Lots of traffic noise. Shower stalls are really clean but really tiny. If you don't have a car, not much to do.
WOW! What a great campground. Small with only 30+ sites. The staff is amazing and willing to do whatever to make your stay great. Facilities are meticulouosly maintained. Pool and hot tub were awesome. Perfect location: out of the busy Gatlenberg/Pigeon Ford areas, but close enough to everyting (less than 10 minute drive). Driving or walking to explore the mountains is a must and this camp area is perfectly situated to do it all. We spent 6 nights there with 5 families (11 kids from 5-14)... Read More

The only negative (if you can even call it that) is the dog run is very tiny. However, we really cant say enough good things about this place!

If you like campgrounds that are quiet, smaller, clean, with cute, well-maintained grounds this place is for you. It's a little east or Gatlinburg and backs to the woods. All you hear are birds and occasional car swooshing by. The employees/owners are very friendly. No streaming on the wifi, but that was fine for us.
A bit away from Gatlinburg. I was given wrong directions based on my direction of travel. Site was not level and approach difficult. WiFi inop at my distance from signal. Hot tub inop. Some road noise during the day that goes away at night.
This campground is a wonderful gem. I am so glad I found it. The staff were extremely helpful when I had an issue with my new 5th Wheel, they offered their assistance and we were able to fix the problem. The pull-through sites are paved, and well maintained. We had to leave one day earlier than scheduled, but we will definitely be back. On the site now making reservations for Columbus Day weekend.
We made our third trip here last week with our grand daughter. We absolutely LOVE Smoky Bear Campground. The staff is excellent, the grounds and facilities immaculate and best of all it is out of town, quiet and peaceful. After a long day in bustling Gatlinburg it is an oasis of relaxation. Although we are not hikers, we have seen many others getting advise from the staff on where to go in the Smokys Nat'l Park. I found the park to be excellent. Blacktop roads, concrete pads, easy in and out access, very clean, owners are very friendly. The only negative is that is a little far away from all the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge activities. Still one of the nicest parks I have ever been in.
The wife and I had a very good experience with this campground. It is very organized and clean. The owners are very nice and if you need something they will try to provide it. If you are going to the Smoky Mountain's National park this is the place to stay. Hope to go back in the next couple years.
