Enjoyed a 3-night stay at the Amicalola Falls campground. If I'm not mistaken it is a state park, but managed by a private company. Given the terrain it is hilly it can be a little tricky going up and down the hills and windy roads with a big rig, but it is possible (33' trailer + 20' tow vehicle). The sites are all pretty nice, private and fairly spacious. The mechanicals all worked fine. It seemed like most of the water spigots leaked at the valve, so a little maintenance may be needed there.... Read More

No sewer connections at the sites, which is expected and common at state parks. There was a common dump station with easy access and decent water pressure for the black tank flush. The dump station driveway was pitched slightly away from drain, so I don't think my tanks drained all the way. A minor improvement would be to re-pitch the driveway to be level to help tanks drain faster. The main loop/road in the campground had quite a few potholes from erosion and chipped edges from traffic. It was minor compared to other places I've stayed out, but perhaps a little maintenance would improve the road. The entire park is very clean and well maintained. The proximity to the lodge/resort and regular activities for kids is a plus (birds of prey, reptiles). And of course the falls being nearby is a beautiful attraction. I would definitely come back for a return stay.
