The Californian is a very nice park. We did have a little problem scraping getting into the park (and leaving) but you could see that others also had problems. We were just minutes from friends that we were visiting. Nice clean park. Plan on staying there again next year!
Concrete terraced parking lot. Over nighters and short term are sandwiched in, not enough room for our 37' trailer and dually, we are sticking out into the road. Monthly spots look like they have more room, difficult to get around your trailer once your slides are out. Worst problem is spiking 133 volt electricity-I've lost this review once already when the power went out. Our coach shuts down to protect itself. We had no power from 11pm to 7:30 this morning, this is expensive dry camping. Office... Read More

The office said they need to keep it high for when all the AC's kick in...it's not AC weather yet. Some poor fools are damaging their appliances, stove and microwaves, as well as water heaters if their coach does not have high voltage protection, many do not. Our DRV has this protection. They didn't seem to care at the office, said it was within normal limits...sigh...

Conveniently located just off SR14 a few miles south of Palmdale, this park has mostly full hookup pull-thru sites with a concrete site pad and a gravel or dirt patio, although the sites are a bit narrow since they are built up a steep hill and have an upgrade between the sites. No picnic table. There is what appears to be an older section that has more mature trees that provide some shade for these sites but we were in the section that has much smaller trees, no shade. There is a relatively large pool and excellent WiFi, although in order to connect you must ignore a security warning about their expired certificate. This should be corrected. The only real complaint I would mention is that the bathrooms were not being cleaned daily when we were there. The floor was quite dirty on many occasions and the door could use a new coat of paint (or replacement). We paid $37.85 per night on a weekly rate.

Management is welcoming, flexible and courteous. They refunded our second night when we were forced to depart early due to electrical problems in our coach, even though we didn't pack up fast enough to make the 12:00 check out time. Easy access from highway. Sites are not terribly appealing: very narrow and lack grass or any type of shade. Dog run is just that: a long, narrow (3-4 feet wide) fenced run, which isn't conducive to pet playtime.
We stayed for a week. A beautiful park, really friendly staff. The gal in the office printed out our Universal Studio Ticket for us and buying propane was super easy. It is not a park for children, there is a pool and during the really hot months perhaps something I would partake in. However, in May, it was really windy there, but not just there, the whole area gets windy May and October I heard are the worst months. So sitting outside was not an option. But it was lovely there, very relaxing... Read More

But it was lovely there, very relaxing and close enough to Palmdale to go there for shopping or dining. I would recommend this park to anyone but especially seniors. Yes, the internet was awful, but with Unlimited Data through Verizon, it was never an issue. No cable there either, but if you want to get away from it all, this is the place to go!

They say this park is BIG RIG friendly, not really - the sites are very narrow and not long enough for a 41' and a car. It was very hard to park the motorhome on the pad so that the compartment doors could open near the electric post and open the slide without hitting a tree.
What a great park! We stayed here a few days while we were in the area. Close to LA, but without the crowds. Nice paved roads, pull thrus are concrete and terraced on the hillside which makes for a wonderful view. Staff was very friendly, bathrooms clean. Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.
This is about the cheapest park you can find around LA, and it is not that far from everything in LA. The park is good sized, big RV will have no issues with getting around. There is plenty of extra parking, the place is very clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The spaces are a tad close together but not that bad really. There are concrete and gravel sites and trees that are not to big that blocking satellite signal is an issue. The local cities have everything you need and if you like... Read More

The local cities have everything you need and if you like deserts, it can be a lot of fun here as the open desert is not far away. Only three hours to Death Valley as well. The only downside to this park is that the pool is not heated, that might just be this time of year, but a heated pool 365 days would be a plus, the other negative is the poor Wifi. Most times you can get email and such, but with the slow system, when people start coming home, it crawls to a stop and then even watching a YouTube video is near impossible. We would stay here again, we stayed here in a 45' 5th wheel and had enough room.
