Beautiful place. Close to I-80. Many large site. All roads and sites paved.
This was a great little campground very well kept. The roads are paved as well as the sites. Sites are pretty level and easy to maneuver. I didn't realize the sites did not have water but there was a communal water faucet in the middle of our little loop and I was able to connect and fill our water tank. We got there after hours and wasn't sure what to do, we had a reservation with our campsite so we just pulled in. When we left the next morning there was no one at the gate so we just pulled out,... Another wonderful Corps park. Stayed 4 nights while taking in John Deere HQ and their museum and store. Grounds are impeccable clean with river view. We also day tripped to Galena where we found a beautiful old river town which was home to President Grant. Don't miss this town.
We really enjoy Fisherman's Corner. It is a smaller camping ground. It has a paved street and concrete pads at every site. Leveling is easy. It is right next to a great bike path. It is clean and maintained well.
We arrived around ten. The camp host came over and was a bit rude. We had stayed here before and we were told that if as long as have a reservation (which means we already paid) that if we arrive after check in booth is closed it was okay. He asked where we were parking and how long we were staying. I pointed at the campsite we were 1/2 backed into and said this site and just tonight. He wanted to know when we were leaving in the morning, I said probably before 9 am. He proceeded to let me know... Read More

He asked where we were parking and how long we were staying. I pointed at the campsite we were 1/2 backed into and said this site and just tonight. He wanted to know when we were leaving in the morning, I said probably before 9 am. He proceeded to let me know that if we did not check in either during check in booth open hours of 5-8pm or in the 9-11 am that we could be fined up to $1000.00. I explained that previously we had done this and we were told it was not a problem. He then told me "well I guess things have changed and I will have to have my wife meet you at the booth". As were already partially backed into the site I asked if we needed to go to the booth right now or could it be in a bit, he was nice enough to say it could be in a few minutes. My husband checked in a bit later and things went smooth from there. The bathrooms are nice, hook up was easy, the site was level and paved.
