First of all, if you are an ATVer ... THIS is your park. We aren't, but a group of about 16 came in while we were there and they had a blast. The trees are quite beautiful, and we found it almost too quiet before the ATVers got there. The lake has dropped substantially and is no longer close. Downside is the pull through sites in the center are oddly laid out where sometimes two trailers doors are facing with the picnic tables behind them. We found P2 lovely. The nearest real grocery is an hour away in Susanville (which has an excellent butcher and fun Thai restaurant) This RV park is quite nice for a long weekend.

Amazing to find a campground nestled in a forest, next to a lake, with desert landscape on the other side of the lake. This campground has been completely renovated with new asphalt, buildings and facilities, plus interesting mixed use of cabins, event spaces, game room and tenting. The sites are level and long and some might appear to be a bit narrow due to the number of trees mostly back-in, but some pull-thrus each with a picnic table and most with a built-in bbq grill. There are fire pits... Read More

There are fire pits at some of the sites, but probably depends upon proximity to the trees. The park personnel were lovely and work very hard to keep the entire park from being buried in pine needles! Lots of local birds and cheeky chipmunks kept us entertained. Due to the season, there was little boating at this time, so cannot comment on that aspect. We really enjoyed our stay.
