#1: FORGET "GOLF RESORT." The golf course closed down three years ago, so there in no on-site golf -- and not a lot of golf courses in this area. We drove north 25 miles one day to play at a course in Bartow. BUT this is a very nice, clean, well-maintained campground. The staff is very friendly although a bit confused at check-in. Sites are a bit close together and all back-ins. Interior roads are all blacktop but made a bit challenging to navigate mostly because of super-long pickup trucks parked in front of towables. People with these rigs really need to make a better effort to get their trucks completely out of the road. Electric power was good, showing only a little voltage drop in the hottest part of the afternoon (around 90 degrees). Water pressure was a little weak but OK. The is no free WI-FI, so it will cost you $5 - $9 per day to purchase access. Monthly rates are much cheaper but we were there only 5 days. There is no cable but there are a lot of OTA station that offer a more or less stable signal. CBS worked fine when we arrived but disappeared in a day or two never to be detected again. NBC, usually the weakest signal wherever we camp, was quite good most of the time.
There are a lot of activities at the campground. On Sunday we attended a free ice-cream social. Contributions were accepted but not required. Monday morning they offered a nice breakfast for $5 eggs, home fries, toast, sausage, bacon, coffee, and OJ. On other days that offered dinners and even a pizza party, but we did not attend those as our rally group provided all evening meals.
We would return here again without hesitation.
