my low rating for this "RV RESORT" is based on the abusive business practices of the management. The park itself is hardly a resort, but really a mobile home park with scattered RV spaces. I had previously made a reservation for 10 days, secured with a $150 non refundable deposit. Upon arrival I told them that due to the corona virus my travel plans had to change, and that I could stay only 3 days which cost $156. They insisted that I pay for an additional 7 days, and charged me an additional... Read More

I stayed 3 days, then left. They refused to remove the extra charge. NOT NICE PEOPLE!
In addition, they denied me the GOOD SAM 10% which is advertised on the GOOD SAM website and the Good Sam directory. I should have gotten $15 credit for the daily rate they charged.FALSE ADVERTISING.

Booked a one week stay here. Not a particularly attractive park difficult to get a 40 foot motorhome backed in. We were on site #86 and soon discovered that the site was infested with fire ants. My wife was stung twice and I was stung once - unable to sit outside. Called the office and left a message, but no-one was there for 3 days (closed sign on the door Friday through Monday). Flagged down a worker on Sunday, 12/14, and he came over and treated the area. He acknowledged it was a problem and... Read More

Flagged down a worker on Sunday, 12/14, and he came over and treated the area. He acknowledged it was a problem and other people had also been stung. On Monday, the water went off for a couple of hours. A staff member said it was a broken water line. On Tuesday, we lost power. I called the emergency number (Newby Management) and was told someone would call back. After a half an hour, I called again, and still no call back. In the meantime, I tested the power pedestal and determined that the problem was isolated to our site. I had to run my generator to charge the batteries and keep the fridge running. I finally was able to run my shore power cable to a vacant adjacent site, working in the dark with a flashlight. A staff member then arrived, unannounced, and confirmed that they were doing work that day and that was probably why our power was out. We left the next morning, two days early. My wife stopped at the office and explained our disappointment over the problems we had encountered and the lack of response by management. The manager said she was sorry for the problems we had experienced, but failed to offer even a partial refund. My wife also contacted Newby Management and was told the person she needed to talk to was in a meeting, but he would return her call. We're still waiting. All that said, it was one of the worst RV Parks we have stayed in. Poor management, failing infrastructure, and lackadaisical response to customer concerns. Avoid this place.

We've spent the last five months across the north, down the west and across the south and this Park is the best example of what a five star Good Sam Park should be! Clean with fine facilities nice people and helpful management. A real winner.
