Stayed at the Gulf Breeze camp ground of the state park. There was 50/30 amp electrical and water on our site. Our site was one of the few that was on a cement pad. There is no sewer, however there is a dump station at the entrance of the camp ground loop. The beach is a brief walk over the board walk that protects the dunes. Beautifull beach with breath taking sunset views. If you camp here you must bring in everything as this is a remote location. There are no grocery stores in the park. The park... Read More

Beautifull beach with breath taking sunset views. If you camp here you must bring in everything as this is a remote location. There are no grocery stores in the park. The park does have a very basic store on the bay side. Kayaks can be rented. The nearest convenience store is about 5 or 8 miles outside the park. Very well stocked store with the basics. There is no wifi and pick up of television with a Winegard Sensar with a 55 mile range was limited. While we were there, no lighting was permitted on the beach at night as the sea turtles were coming in to lay their eggs. How cool is that? I had a red filtered light which is permitted. The area is remote and beautiful. There was a black fly outbreak and they do bite right threw the socks. Don't wear dark clothing as it seems to attract the flies . I used a big fan I travel with and it helps a lot when under the awning. There were signs warning of alligators on the bay side. I never spotted one. The facilities such as toilets, baths are good, clean and basic. The staff does a good job keeping up the place. Just remember it's remote site so bring in all the chow, toys and supplies you like to have on your outing. Bring bottle water as the site water taste funky even with a water filters. I did not get ill from the local water however I boil water if from a local tap.

We had a site close to the bathhouse on the Gulf Breeze Loop. The bathhouse was nice and modern, with A/C. The campground is just a boardwalk's walk from the amazing white sand beach and clear clean water of the Gulf. The park is rather remote, it is 20 miles to Port St. Joe, but as long as you come prepared with food and beverages, you won't want to leave anyway. You can enjoy the Gulf or the calmer bay waters from this campground, so bring your kayaks and snorkels. We can't wait to return! Read More
