Overnight stay. Nice place, nothing fancy.. Restrooms were nicely done, very clean. Has the feel of a state park. Would stay there again. Nothing negative to say....
Driving 6 hours, I arrived tired for an overnight stay. A comedy of errors followed, too long to catalog, before I finally found my campsite. This resulted directly from poor signage of the campground itself and picnic tables with big numbers indicating their campsites that had, of course, been misplaced. I had been told on arrival that the faucet for drinking water was somewhere around the shower building. I looked around, no faucet, even questioning a passerby. I had been told on arrival that the faucet for drinking water was somewhere around the shower building. I looked around, no faucet, even questioning a passerby. I finally went back to the entrance, and was told it was probably in the inside, in the laundry room that, of course, had no sign to it. In a conversational tone, I indicated that the place had poor signage, I received a polite response of massive indifference. I looked for hiking trails, there are none. There are very rigorous bike trails going through the tailings left from the old strip job that formed the park. If you want demanding biking trails, they have 'em, but I just wanted a hiking trail. The lake does look nice. The bathroom/showers are dated but clean, a petting zoo looks interesting. So, the place has some nice features, but not for me. I'm not going back.
