We loved this LA state park. So many pluses! The campground is a short walk to the beach for sunsets. Spots are pretty large so you aren't on top of people. Clean bathrooms and showers are well cared for by camp hosts. One rare amenity for a state park is a laundry room with washers and dryers that are FREE - bring your own soap. Laundry room also has a bookshelf with donated books and shelves for donating any other camping stuff you don't want any more. Close to Mandeville for services, restaurants,... Read More

Close to Mandeville for services, restaurants, groceries, etc. The downtown lakefront park is a lovely spot to walk or sit on a bench. Some great restaurants with outdoor seating too so pet friendly with we appreciated. A few sites have full hookups, many more have water and electricity, and there are a couple of loops for tent camping. Nice layout for walking all over the park. We will be back.

Great place to stay. Spots are wide and have space between them. Only down sides are the lack of sewer connections (there is a dump station on site) and during the rainy seasons, many of the sites are low and have standing water/mud around the pads. We will definitely stay here again if in the area.
I stayed there the night of June 12th. I called ahead to be sure there were vacancies. I was told yes. My biggest complaint was the checking in process. I handed the clerk my driver's license for my personal info, received it back, then had to ratlle off all the details. The clerk asked me if I wanted a full hookup, which I did, and assumed I was charged for. When I parked my vehicle, there was water and electricity, but only a communal sewage hookup. I called the desk and learned that there were... Read More

I called the desk and learned that there were a limited number of full hookups. It seems that the clerk that took my money should have known this and explained it to me. The campground was full and orderely. I would stay there again, but I learned to clarity this point up front.

Beautiful Park , every night you could see lots and lots of deer. We stayed during Mardi Gras 2016 it was just a short distance to New Orleans across the 23 mile causeway bridge. Found a great little restaurant ' Where Y at ' in Mandeville. Great food we ate there several times. Went to a Mardi Gras Parade in Slidell. Wish we had stayted longer . We will go back to this park
