If you are an older camper looking for a retirement community, this is for you. If you are a camper looking to spend time with fellow campers enjoying the campfire, don't stay here. The facility was well maintained, and the bathrooms/laundry were exceptional. However, there was very little to do. Though the website advertised basketball, shuffleboard, and various other activities, they were not available. The pool was very nice but usage had to be scheduled. My group of campers have stayed at many, many campgrounds and never encountered such restrictive rules. We would not camp here again.

Staff was very helpful in helping us plan our trip into town. It is an immaculately maintained campground. There were a lot of full timers there, but everything was neat and tidy and everyone was friendly.
We planned just two nights to avoid extensive daily travel hence, it was not our destination however, next year it will be our destination for several weeks. The owners treat their clients like they'd like to be treated. The grounds are beautifully groomed, maintained and so peacefully quiet! There is plenty to do in Kennebunkport including beautiful beaches. In addition, Read Apple offers town beach parking passes for free. We found this to be much added value. Our thanks to the owners!
How can you go wrong with a place that delivers steamed lobster to your site? We had a wedding to attend in Maine and wanted to spend some time in the state to explore. Red Apple was close to where the wedding was to be held so we reserved a site. What a great place to spend time. Really nice sites, clean, well kept. If you plan to be in southern Maine - stay here.
Hands down, this is the best campsite we've visited and deserving of a 5 Star rating. The owners are camper-focused and very accommodating, e.g.we arrived intending to pay for our stay with a credit card which they don't accept. The owner's response was "just mail us a check when you get home". Our site was pristine, large and on a asphalt pad surrounded by a well maintained lawn. The amenities all worked well save the wifi which was very spotty. Otherwise, all in order. You would be hard priced... Read More

You would be hard priced to find litter or evidence of a "dog friendly" facility. Plenty of attractions are available for both adults and children and their office is terrific as is the adjoining pool. They actually have hours at the pool for adults only. Red Apple is conveniently located to the great restaurants and shopping of Southern Maine. Make sure to try the lobster delivery to site service - decadent!
We'd recommend a thorough review of their website to learn more!

One of the best-maintained parks we have been to in the Northeast. They do have a small percentage of overnighters - mostly seasonal park model RVs but very pleasant. The only disappointment was the last day when were asked to leave because check out was 11 and it was 11:15. As one of the most expensive campgrounds we stay in, I expect a little more diplomacy. Most of the campgrounds' check outs are noon and during the week, as this was, there's never been an issue. We were happy to oblige and leave,... Read More
