This place is just outside of St. Ignace. The sites have fire rings. It is right on Lake Huron and has a lovely beach. Shuttles for the ferries do come to the campground so you do not have to drive into town and park, The bath/shower areas are a bit dated.
After checking in we were given a camp site that sat in the mud. No gravel and much worn grass. I wasn't given my discount and when called the next day was told I would not get a credit. Very dirty, messy unkept campground that don't look like the pictures!!. I will never recommend this place to anyone!
Photos on the website are extremely old, have been photoshopped or taken from elsewhere. The dock is closed off because it is falling down, the beach looks nothing like these photos, the "playground" is unsafe and particially in the water. Many of the sites were mud, but management would not switch sites. They promised specific sites and then gave them to other people. This campground needs a major overhaul.
I'm afraid I was shocked That this kind of railroading could happen at a Good Sam approved park.We made reservations sight unseen from the Good Sam book recommendation for 6/14/2019 for 4 days at the Castle Rock Park in St Ignace. I felt comfortable doing this as we have had 100% satisfaction so far on this trip. We recently retired and have decided to set foot in the 50 we haven't made yet in life. I will have to say that it rained that day so the park was not at it's best. The conditions were... Read More

I made the mistake of not looking at the sight before agreeing to stay,(not sure this is an issue as I was probably sunk with this owner when I gave a credit card with the reservation.) My wife and I decided to Walmart camp and look for new digs the next day. When I went back to cancel was even prepared to give one day rent as a cancellation fee. Most all the parks we have stayed at so far had a 24 hour cancel time. NOT HERE!! Was charged for the whole stay! Be very careful if you decide to go to this park. There is even a sign hidden behind you on the door NO REFUNDS! If you want to deal with this kind of backwards arcane deceitfulness, good luck. I will be sure there is a cancellation clause from now on!

Great camp ground for RVs & tents. Private sites, you don't feel like you are camping right on top of your neighbor. Wonderful mangers very friendly & helpful. Pet friendly lake is within a short walk of most camp sites. We would recommend this to everyone looking for a nice location in upper MI. Centrally located for all favorite attractions.
Our campsite (#18) was just 2 over from the office, and was a gravel/mud mess, VERY narrow, with 2 foot square flat pieces of concrete "pads" randomly strewn about. No room for an awning, barely enough room to walk around our 30' motorhome. And even though it is a "lakefront" campground, water was no where to be seen.
I strongly discourage anyone from staying here. Showers are unclean and water does not stay on. Handicap mother was unable to use showers due to poor function. Beach area is gross and unkept. Playground is just a bunch of toddler toys. Had company come to visit, they didn't realize that had to pay, was accused of "blowing past" stop sign (which they did stop at) and was kicked out of campground and police threatened to be called. Simply for an innocent mistake. On a positive note, we did stay on... Read More

Simply for an innocent mistake. On a positive note, we did stay on site 77 and it was peaceful and tucked back in. I did notice some sites were extremely small making fellow campers overflow into the roads, we did not have this problem. This all is very disappointing because we had hoped to be returning customers.

We had a full hook up back in spot with lots of shade, fire ring and picnic table. Most sites were shaded and ample size. Management was very responsive and helpful. The internet was excellent. Water pressure was great and the roads were paved but the sites were not. Garbage was picked up quickly. No odor or loud noises. Short trip on bike to the lakeshore with lots of beach and playground. Clean. Great shuttle service from campground to ferry of choice for Mackinaw Island, which we used... Read More
