We stayed in the full-hookup section. It's not great. It's not bad. It's as if the State decided as an after thought to build this section of an otherwise lovely campground. I imagine the conversation of the State Park Officials went something like this: "We need a full-hookup area, where shall we put it? How about in that treeless field? We can put a whole lot of sites there, close together, and it will be easier to plumb and wire." The beauty and offerings of the Park make the stay in the full-hookup... Read More

We stayed in the full-hookup section. It's not great. It's not bad. It's as if the State decided as an after thought to build this section of an otherwise lovely campground. I imagine the conversation of the State Park Officials went something like this: "We need a full-hookup area, where shall we put it? How about in that treeless field? We can put a whole lot of sites there, close together, and it will be easier to plumb and wire." The beauty and offerings of the Park make the stay in the full-hookup section an acceptable compromise.

We stayed in this park for the weekend, and had a great time. The camp sites were generous, with full-hookups the norm. Roads were wide allowing for room to maneuver and the park store was great. They offer rentals for bicycles, kayaks and paddle boards, and the lake was pleasant to get out and row around on. It is a pretty park - we have stayed in many Missouri state parks over the years and this is easily in our top 3 now. The only possible complaint I could dream up is that the WIFI was... Read More

We stayed in this park for the weekend, and had a great time. The camp sites were generous, with full-hookups the norm. Roads were wide allowing for room to maneuver and the park store was great. They offer rentals for bicycles, kayaks and paddle boards, and the lake was pleasant to get out and row around on. It is a pretty park - we have stayed in many Missouri state parks over the years and this is easily in our top 3 now. The only possible complaint I could dream up is that the WIFI was pretty much non-existent, but unfortunately that is the norm most places. Not slow, just weak signal.
