Timberland Campground Good Sam Verified Campground

I recently stayed at the Timberland campground, and while the campground itself is amazing, there are several MAJOR issues that makes me suggest looking into near by campgrounds such as the National Park Service campgrounds in the area (of which there are several amazing ones) 1) No tent stakes - The campground didnt burry their water and power lines appropriately, so rather than fix it. They just ban the use of tent stakes. The owners also run the place so one night that a storm came through they even went around telling people they couldnt stake down their awnings or canopies. 2) Power - The power at this place is clearly overloaded. On the weekend I was getting warnings that the voltage was in the 95v range (120v) The National Electric Code states that the lowest permissible voltage is 114 to national code at the furthest part of the line. Below 100v you can start to see damage to electronics and motors as this is a brownout. 3) Train Tracks - There are active tracks literally on the other side of the line of sites (lower sites are even worse as they arent at least elevated) and there are freight trains that come through regularly including all hours of the nights. The tracks are close enough that you can actually feel the rumble as it passes on top of the whistle, engine noise and wheel squealing. 4) Water Damage to Rental Unit - When I stayed I had family staying so I rented one of their rental trailers. The bedroom wall was leaking at the headboard when it rained and there was even a hole in the wall from the water damage and warping. When I let the owner know this they said they didnt think it was leaking anymore. 5) Guest policies - This was really just an insult on top of everything else mentioned. I had rented an electric site AND one of their travel trailers for a mini-family reunion. We had a total of 5 adults across the 2 units and they still charged a guest fee for the stay because ONLY 2 adults per site are allowed. I have yet to come across any other campground with such a restrictive and enforce policy. Its quite sad, like I said, its a charming campground, but between the being woken up jarringly at 3am by a train whistle or worrying that the constant brownout condition is going to damage your equipment, I just cant recommend staying here.

Beautiful park. Roomy sites, great for families. Our site was right next to the playground which could get a little noisy, but that was okay. Nice walking trails, pretty river. I now camp in a motorhome, but if I still used tents I would have loved these sites. The tents sites are very spread out and feel private. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. The cable and wifi were very clear. We had a good, level, roomy site.

The RV sites were nice and big. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There is a nice trail down by the river. The pool area was nice and clean and pool was well taken care of. We found several things to do in the area and were given maps and info by the owners. Would stay there again!

Very nice camping quiet and clean. The Owners were very nice and accommodating. Very close to Mt Washington and Glen Falls. Will defiantly stay again when in the area. We Stayed in a 40' class A and had not trouble. We were backed into a very nice wooded area. Trees were trimmed nice for getting around and in. Thanks

This is a family owned park and the owners obviously take pride in its looks and management. Check in was easy and the greeting friendly. We were in a large pull through shaded by birch and pines. It was plenty long enough for our MH and toad. No satellite due to trees. AT&T data signweak, Verizon adequate, camp wifi good but intermittent.

Very pleasant month-long stay. Hosts friendly and attentive and clearly enjoy what they are doing, which is reflected in the atmosphere of the park. Close to trails, mountains and services. Highly recommend.

The Campground and owners and staff were all great. Very clean and well run and taken care of. Great location for all available activities in the area. Will return again..

This campground is about 5 miles east of Gorham, NH, on the north side of the White Mountains. A substantial portion of the campground consists of primitive sites. They have a few sites for transient campers. We were in site #18 which is a pull-in, back-out site just behind the entrance. The campground is generally appealing with lots of trees and a nice hiking path in the back along the river. This campground is about 5 miles east of Gorham, NH, on the north side of the White Mountains. A substantial portion of the campground consists of primitive sites. They have a few sites for transient campers. We were in site #18 which is a pull-in, back-out site just behind the entrance. The campground is generally appealing with lots of trees and a nice hiking path in the back along the river. When we checked in they provided us with some very good suggested driving routes through the White Mountains. We had a full hookup site with 50 amp electric. The driveways are gravel and the site pads are gravel/grass. They have free WiFi which worked quite well from our site. The laundry and bathrooms are in good condition and clean. They also have an adult Rec Room with TV and a book exchange. We paid $37.80 with Good Sam discount.

Very nice campground and friendly owners. Close to Mt. Washington and beautiful scenery.

Great RV Park and the owners were wonderful. Convenient to the Mt. Washington Auto Road and Reflection Pond. River access and kayaking on the river with return services available from the owners. Child friendly with fire truck rides and geocaching available. Nice hiking trails along the river which could also provide some shore fishing.

Beautiful location on the Androscoggin River. Nice large sites for Class A or large camper and super friendly owners that make you feel welcome. Close to Conway for wife to get her "shopping fix" and Mt. Washington and zip lines for outdoor adventure. Great cycling out of the campground for avid cyclist and great kayaking. Put in at campground and owner will pick you and kayak up downstream for nominal fee.

Nice sites. Great owners !! Be sure to take the Kyak trip from the campground....

Easy in-out for 37' MH, great sites, very accommodating, Will definately return again when in the area

Beautiful surroundings with very scenic river walk. Very peaceful.

Nice campground with super nice, helpful owners. First night here we were invited to a pot-luck dinner/birthday celebration for one of the owners. They provided hamburgers, hot dogs, and cake. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a very nice campground. The owners are very nice and helpful. The store and laundry area are nice. There is a swimming pool although we did not use it. Nice hiking trail. Campsites are really nice.
