Great views from every site, sitting right at top of Raton pass its the perfect place to break up your journey. The owners are on site and are welcoming and helpful. We spent three nights and enjoyed every minute of it.
We camped at the Raton Pass Camp and Cafe one night, the first week of May 2019. Fantastic views from the top of Raton Pass, altitude 7,888 feet. Clear views into the southern Colorado mountains and the mountains of New Mexico's Enchanted Circle in the western skyline. The overall campground is a relatively small campground made up of a round, gravel covered parking lot. There is no separation between campsites and little privacy. The shower and restroom facilities on site were very nice and... Read More

You are camping along I-25, however the road noise was minimal overnight. We slept well here. For $35 (with a Good Sam discount) we had full hookups with 30 amp power, water and sewer at our campsite. The campground esthetics is low, but the view is fantastic. The Raton Pass Camp & Cafe is a good place for an overnight stay when traveling I-25 between Denver and Albuquerque.

Appeal rating should definitely be a 6- or 7-star based on the views from the campsites, the stars at night and the sunsets/sunrises. You are literally on top of the world at Raton Pass. We had a back-in site with our 5er and the view towards the southeast was awesome. The owners are extremely personable and take exceptional care of their property. The cafe is still closed due to (according to the owners) lack of available employees. The sites are wide and long enough for the 37 foot 5er and... Read More

Restrooms very clean. A wonderful 2-night stay. We will return just for the views and quiet, even though right off I-25.

This was our first ever night in an RV Park and what a great one to start with. The location is amazing. The owners were great and very helpful guiding us in since it was also our first time backing into a space. If you are into Hummingbirds, like we are, you will be blown away. They are everywhere! Since we come this way often, to visit family, we will be stopping several times a year. Hope to see you there. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars is because the cafe part was not open when we were... Read More

The only reason we didn't give 5 stars is because the cafe part was not open when we were here. (We REALLY needed a cup of coffee) We went and bought a coffee maker the next morning. :-)

Staff is very cordial and helpful. Located on the top of Raton Pass at the state line. Exit 460. Amazing views especially from back-in spots. Pinic tables at some spots. Relatively quite even though near the interstate with only occasion road noise that is noticeable mostly outside. This is one of our favorites for stopping along the trip.

One night stay. Hosts were very cordial, ready to help if needed. Beautiful view from upper level. Awoke to deer feeding next to RV. A must stay if looking for a site. Did not use the restroom or shower.
Great view
Campground hosts were very friendly. They led us to our designated pull-thru camping site since our motorhome plus trailer totaled about 60 ft. Breakfast was available before traveling on which was good since our refridgerater was going out and not keeping food truly cold. Short hiking trails were available to give outstanding views of the mountains.
Pleasant stay for overnight or a few days. Literally on top of a mountain and at the top of Raton Pass. Highway noise is not too noticeable. Nicely landscaped, friendly owners and very quiet. Short hiking trail. Lovely views in all directions. Easy off and on I-25. Did not eat at Cafe. Weak WiFi. Super clean and neat park. 6-7 miles out of Raton and about 10 miles to Trinidad.
