If you are looking to visit the Caverns this is an OK place for a night or two. We were looking for a place to relax and spend a quiet weekend, and this was not it. This is a campground that allows you to park, they have full hook-ups and our spot was relatively level (I have stayed at worst). It is about 7 miles by car to the Cavern, or a 4-mile hike up the mountains to the Caverns. There is no shade and the spot was basically 50 ft off of the highway (There was no road noise at night,... It is about 7 miles by car to the Cavern, or a 4-mile hike up the mountains to the Caverns. There is no shade and the spot was basically 50 ft off of the highway (There was no road noise at night, very little traffic so that did not bother me at all).
The amenities are Wi-Fi. The playground is less than I have in our back yard at home. One piece of climbing stuffs for the little kids. We did not check out the showers (it was about 150 yards from where we were parked). There were restrooms about 100 yards from us, near the check in center and they seemed clean, but it was just a toilet and a sink.
We did not make it to the caverns on this trip (we are in a motor home and usually do not tow the car on these weekend getaways), I did not want to disconnect and drive up the mountain. I would recommend a travel trailer (or 5th Wheel) or bring a Toad so that you can experience the Caverns.
I would recommend if you are looking for a place to relax and have some shade, you look elsewhere. We were literally out in the sun the entire time.

Wow, what a dump. I can't believe Good Sam even promotes this place. Looks like an RV Park 20 years beyond its prime. The first spot they tried to put me in was basically on the road shoulder. When I objected, I was told the RV Park proper was for monthly rentals only. When I insisted, they begrudgingly gave me a spot in the proper park, but when we had a look at the park and restrooms and discovered our spot did not have 30amp electric-only 50amp, we asked for a refund and left. Avoid this place... Read More

No TV. No pull through. Back in space not level. Our Class A sank several inches into gravel of assigned space. Bathrooms (one for each gender) is also shower with no separation from toilet. Not even a mirror in cell. Fixtures rusted. Lock compromised. Men's full of crawly critters. But nice people, gift shop, restaurant and little store. Really close to Carlsbad Caverns, but would like to watch TV at night. Overall, $84 too costly for two nights, especially for off season (currently December)... Read More

Worst place We have ever stayed. Sites too close together. People living here full time. Campground director had to argue with the people in the next site to move their cars out of our site so we could pull in. Bathrooms are disgusting. Definitely would not stay here again.
This park has no appeal. There is trash all over the place, the 5th wheel sites are too close together and there are trailers that appear to have been here for years. Two sites down from ours there was a guy with an SUV on jackstands and the rear end of the vehicle laying next to it. Double booked sites. Only positive I can give is the close proximity to Carlsbad Caverns.
Poorly kept. Crowded. Couldn't use slides. Had to rent power adapter because our 30 rig wouldn't fit in 30 ft space.lol wow. No wi-fi. No nothing. Drive to Carlsbad.
Facility is a mess. Trash and glass on sites. Sewage leaking up to surface somehow with bees around it. Store is nice inside but trash cans overflowing outside and food left on ground. Water park is not what it states. It's Ok just for "location" but might better just make a day trip to caverns on the way to/from elsewhere.
Had we drove around the facility first. We would not have stayed 4 days. One day maybe to visit Carlsbad Caverns. Bathrooms poorly cleaned. No soap or paper towels in the men or women's bathrooms, even after we reported it. Laundry facilities pooly kept up with. Machine's are all very dirty. There are pet messes all along the perimeter of the camp sites. Cost is way too high for what you get.
