This place is magnificent. We've visited twice or more per year for some time now, and everything is always "just right", and in fact... gets improved every season. Whether you're there for the marina access to the St Lawrence River, or lazing around the pool & Tiki bar, it's the best we've experienced. We love the place, and will continue to visit regularly. Such a beautiful camping! Excellent service! Immaculate sites! A must! Will stay much longer the next time! Thank you...
We stayed here 4 days. The campgrounds are clean and well kept. All sites have level, concrete pads. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great---easy an quick access to surrounding towns and things to do. If you have a boat or kayak there is direct water access right from the campground. We already made reservations for next year. The only complaint is that there are very few sites with shade trees.
Friendly staff and decent size sites. Pretty cool to see the huge freight liners come through too. But overall I would not give the campground a 5 star. One of the first campgrounds we stayed at that charges electric. For the price we paid, I feel there are nicer campgrounds. We stay at alot of KOAs and they're cheaper and offer more to do and don't charge electric. This campground has 2 pools and one is a "Tiki Bar". The pools are way too small for the amount of people in them. Picture... Read More

I can't rate the bathrooms because we did not use them. There were no gym facilities and no coffee shop on site. Overall how I feel the rates were too high for what is offered.

Beautiful campground. Situated right on the St Lawrence River, it was nice to be able to watch the freighters traveling through 4 or 5 times a day. The sites were very level concrete pads with paver patios with picnic tables and a separate fire ring. There was plenty of space between the sites, so you didn't feel cramped. We always worry when we stay at "resort" campgrounds that it will be a lot of high speed golf carts with blaring radios and all night parties. Our stay was just the opposite. Very... Read More

Very laid back and quiet, seemed to be more family camping, which we enjoyed. Didn't use the pools, but looked very nice, if not a little small for a resort this size. Any staff we encountered were very pleasant and friendly, the grounds around the campground were spotless and well manicured. Overall we loved our experience at Swan Bay and would definitely recommend them to anyone traveling to the area. Easy drive to Alexandria Bay and Clayton for some sightseeing in these quaint little towns. We stayed on site 17

The tale of 2 different reviews We were so excited to get to Swan Bay. Its ratings are very high, its ammenities great, and its location excelllent. First impressions were excellent. The sites are pristine. Flat, cement paved pads, brick paver patios, perfectly groomed grass, trees and shrubs surrounding the sites. The picnic tables and stone enclosed firepits are in perfect shape, and the general appearance of the campground is beautiful. The water, electric and sewer hookups were easy. The wifi... Read More

We were so excited to get to Swan Bay. The wifi in the park is pretty good - as wifi goes these days in campgrounds. There were only 2 air channels accessible with our antenna. That was a bit disappointing - but our Roku that we accessed from the wifi kept us entertained. The camp map is excellent. The 2 pools are clean and clear, the waterfront is quite pretty, and the tiki bar is a nice added attraction. There is ample seating around the pool area. The entire campground is entirely flat, so walking, running, dog walking and biking are welcomed activities. The camp store is plentiful with all kinds of items that any camper might need or want, and, at the far end of the park, there happens to be a full supermarket right next door. It is an excellent, pretty location. In fact, the views of the sky during sunset and dusk are impecable. When we checked in, the front desk seemed kind and knowledgeable. And, during our stay, the interactions we had with the maintenance staff were excellent. THIS part of my review gets a 5 star rating.
Swan Bay promised a free shuttle bus service, available several times a day, into Alex Bay or Clayton. This services allowed us the opportunity to not have to rent a car to see the sights. Perfect. When we pulled in, we immediately inquired how things work. The young lady at the desk instructed us to call the day before we wanted the service, as they have to "reserve" it. Fine. About an hour later, we called and reserved the shuttle for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the 13th. Fine.
The next morning, we went up to the office at 10:15 to wait for the shuttle. We asked TWICE if we were in the right place and if everything was set. The answer, both times, was "yup". Fifteen minutes AFTER the time we were supposed to leave, there still was no shuttle. It was at that time they discovered that the girl who took my information for the 13th wrote down the 12th. What? So, their mistake. They then scrambled, and found a fabulous maintenance guy to drive us in. We lost some time in the city, but it turned out fine. Immediately upon returning, we went into the office and reserved shuttle seats IN PERSON, on the 13th, for the 14th, at 9 a.m.
We went up to the store the next day, at 8:55 - and I sent my husband in to confirm (I was running out of patience). They told him the girl wrote down 11 A.M. - not 9 A.M.! I mean...HOW MANY mistakes can ya make?? Again, maintenance had to rush down and take us into town. The guy explained that much of their regular staff was disrupted by the pandemic. Okay, understood - but can you just do your job? The driver was excellent - and all ended fine.
We were supposed to be picked up at 3:15. At 2:55 we found ourselves on a boatride that was being detained. I made a pre-emptive phone call to the camp office, to explain the situation, and to ask the driver to just give us 5 minutes of wiggle time. I explained that we were Swan Bay campers. I wanted to say that we were in a situation beyond our control, and just wanted to be polite and explain why we might be late. I was put on hold....and after SIX MINUTES of hold, I just hung up. No one ever got back on the phone. I think that's the 3rd strike by this office staff. The story ends fine - we got to the bus stop with 2 minutes to spare, and everything worked out. The driver had no idea we had even called - and that was fine. So, the office staff at this campground gets, unfortunately, a rating of "2". I am sorry, for such a high class campground, whose cost is commensurate with its amenities, the office staff should know what it's doing. So, averaging the 5 rating for the grounds, and the 2 for the staff, I end up with a 3.5. In this rating, I rounded up. I'm not saying that I wouldn't come back - because I surely would. But, I would know NOT to depend on the office staff for much of anything, as they really aren't super responsible - and might need more training to make this campground the excellent place it most definitely could be.

This is a beautiful campground! We were here in September for a small gathering. We have a 40 foot fifth wheel, and the lots were spacious and easy to back into. Great views of the water, and the sites have nice clean cement pads and lush grass. Excellent location near Alexandria Bay and Clayton. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Disappointing. Bath house is new and clean but just one shower stall. WiFi did not work, no cable. Sites are new and clean with nice patio and picnic table. Sites are a bit close together. No one monitored over night fires, kids with golf carts, quiet time and the security Gates were open hours past 8. Staff drove Swan Bay trucks way too fast through park. No curbside trash pickup and overflowing dumpsters. Little offered for activities at the park . Had to go to Town. Area is awesome but for... Read More

Area is awesome but for a pricey so called resort this place is nothing more than a new campground. There is an add on electricity charge too, so you pay dearly for the level pad and picnic table.

Great stay, location, everything is terrific...make it a destination..
The ONLY REASON we stayed here is to get dependable internet. We asked about that amenity specifically when we booked. We did not get that AT ALL. In fact, from the moment we arrived, and heard OTHER PEOPLE voicing their concerns for NO INTERNET ACCESS- there was continuously NO RELIABLE INTERNET. The office tried to blame it on our equipment, and said WE just needed to reboot OUR COMPUTERS. NOT the case. Then they said it might be slow because of the amount of people in the park . The office tried to blame it on our equipment, and said WE just needed to reboot OUR COMPUTERS. NOT the case. Then they said it might be slow because of the amount of people in the park . They actually told us that "If the park really did have problems, then we'd have 100 people in here complaining!" NOT the case because we asked many other campers and NOBODY was getting internet..... many people told us that they were told by the office that THEY WERE THE ONLY ONES complaining! When the office finally acknowledged a problem, they blamed it on a storm that occurred a few days earlier. Finally after a couple of days and other people actually voicing their issues with the internet problems to the office.... the WIFI worked - for about one hour one morning, and then QUIT Again FOR THE REMAINDER OF OUR STAY. Ended up having to spend extended time numerous days at a coffee shop 15 minutes away from the park!! When we go to a $30 night park, we expect slow, mediocre WIFI- which is what we usually get in such a place. When you pay $100+ a night, there is simply no excuse for extended WIFI outages- throughout the day, even at 4am, (short of a serious storm taking out towers, which was NOT THE CASE) The worst of it was the BS that they insisted for the longest time that the PARK DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS, and that it was our equipment that was the issue. Again- spoke with MANY fellow campers, and NOT ONE was getting WIFI. The office did not offer anything at all for compensation either for these problems- so warning: if you are expecting WIFI at a campground, do NOT bother with this place.

We stayed here for only one night during Memorial Day weekend. As expected the place was busy. But, staff very friendly, well maintained park, did not use pool but looked good. Convenient location to Ferry to Thousand Island and Boldt Castle. Only complaint was that the dog park, although a good size and had bags, was overgrown and you could not see if you were gonna step in some poo.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!! Spent labor day weekend at Swan Bay Resort. We were close to Alex Bay and the Blues Festival and tours for first day of our stay. Then went to Clayton and the surrounding State Parks the next day. Cannot beat the location. Our site stayed dry and comfortable while the area experienced heavy rains and storms. Definitely recommend this resort for enjoying your stay in the 1000 Island area especially if you have a big rig.
Great spot near Alexandria Bay. Love that they have boat docks as well as RV spots. Spots are a little tight and very close. Waterside spots are gorgeous and big freighter ships pass right by very close. Inground pool with tiki bar and outdoor fireplaces with cozy adirondack chairs. Bathrooms and whole campground imacculate. They have gorgeous rental chalets for non RVing people. Bikes, kayaks, sea doos, pontoon boats for rent at the resort. If you can't find something fun to do here its your own... Read More

About half an hour from Watertown and shopping mall. Very gorgeous resort, Staff helpful and friendly. Easy check in and out. No complaints at all. Will return and highly recommend, Sunsets over the bay on the nice patio swings are the best!

We had a wonderful stay. The owner and caretaker were always there to help with questions about the area and the history of the campground. They always smiled. The campground is spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect. How could it not be on a Lake! Everyone was pleasant campers and staff alike. We will be back next year!
This RV park and Marina is beautiful. We had a wonderful view out the front window of our RV. Looking right our at the St. Lawerence seaway. The site is brand new, this would be their first full season of operation. all sites had concrete pad, water, sewer, electric hook ups. All sites have some view of the water.
Great location and a top notch resort. The staff is very professional and make you feel like family. There is a lot to do in the area and there is a path to the food store next door (price chopper). I liked it so much that I booked a week in July 2016.
We visited for the first time. Absolutely a great place! We are returning next year. Great restaurants nearby.
