I stayed here two times a couple of weeks apart in a 35' class a with toad. I will review both together. Both stays were with previous reservations. Both stays just one night passing through. Showed up #1 and no one anywhere to be seen. Office locked. No one answering the phone. A truck happened by a half hour in and was able to reach someone on a golf cart who took me to a site. Site was heavily overgrown but relatively level and long enough. This park is quiet during the day but at night... Read More

Site was heavily overgrown but relatively level and long enough. This park is quiet during the day but at night the campfires light up and the loud parties and yelling begin. Most of the revelers seemed to be permanent stays. I'm not exaggerating, I could hear it all quite clearly in a closed up motor home with the TV on. Quieted down around midnight. #2 - At check in the office was occupied. I was advised they did not have water because there was a break in the line somewhere. I was told it had been that way for several days and that whoever was responsible for repairing it wasn't interested because it was late in the year. Same overgrown spot. Same loud party after it got dark. New surprise on this visit though was the septic also didn't drain and it took a long time to get my tanks empty and hose unhooked. Still no water come morning and maybe that is a good thing. Nope.

When booking we got the last site because they were having their annual Halloween party (park closes before end of October) and it gets busy. We were in transit and staying one night so did not think anymore about it. The staff was helpful and we had a nice, small wooded site. We were in transit and staying one night so did not think anymore about it. The staff was helpful and we had a nice, small wooded site. If you are looking for a family-oriented experience, we highly recommend the annual Halloween event. Nearly everyone, except for us, dressed in costumes, and there were more decorations than we see on most houses. People staying there set up a haunted house. There was a trick or treat event for kids, and hay rides. Although we were not into the event, the people were very polite, and we were invited to a seafood boil at an adjacent site. A few folks stayed up and were a little noisy until the wee hours, but the vibe was generally polite, quiet and happy. Most of the folks attending were from the region. The park is close to Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame, and Sharon Springs, somewhat of an eclectic town where the folks from the television show Beekman Boys have a store. We would stay again if in the area.

We stayed 5 nights in a 43 foot Motor Home. The staff was very helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. The roads were good, tree height was good, sites were level. The electric was strong and water was good. No sewer but pump out was available and on time when requested. Facilities for kids, the pool was great and it was a nice restful camp. We will stay again when we are in the neighborhood.
My family and I stayed for 4 nights and never ran out of things to do at the campground or in the area. The drive to the village of Cooperstown (9 or 10 miles) was beautiful - right along a lake. The campground itself was clean, spacious and well run by the owners. The kids loved the heated pool, arcade and fishing. Quiet time was enforced, which was great since we have young children. We will definitely be staying at this campground again.
