We arrived at Rip Van Winkle and found the friendliest and most accommodating staff. We stayed for a week and it was truly enjoyable. The sites were wooded and provided privacy in a natural setting. The office had ice cream and there was always a group sitting outside by a huge fire pit. The restrooms and laundry room were clean. Lots of family and kid friendly activities and the best thing was Pickles, the 38 ft. tall and 49 ft. long metal dinosaur. For a quarter Pickles will spray water out... Read More

This is hands down our favorite campground to come to in the tristate area. This family owned campground accommodates our family of four and is pet friendly. There are so many different things to explore. Swimming holes, multiple playgrounds, RC track, fishing, outside movies, and a whole lot more fun to be discovered every visit. Recently, the owners went above and beyond to help us when needing a last minute rental. The campground is clean and well maintained. We love the wooded sites and natural... Read More

We love the wooded sites and natural habitat that has been left to be enjoyed. We have a 40ft fifth wheel and yes, you need to pay attention when driving through the grounds but it is doable and the sites are more than big enough to accommodate our rig. I really cannot express how happy we are with this campground EVERY time. We will continue to come back again and again and each year we look forward to seeing how they have made it even better from the last. Brian and his family have created a place that we will be forever grateful to spend our days camping. Thank you.

The people in the campsite told me we would be in an area with only 1 other family and there were about 10 others very crowded, not good COVID guidelines. I mainly stayed in my camper or in town. The staff would not give me my good Sam discount because it was a holiday weekend. The camp was mostly for residential campers. I would not return, in fact we left after one night.
As you arrive into the driveway, it is so pretty with the fountain and the pond with the paddleboats to your left. Unfortunately, from there, the road got MUCH worse. Broken asphalt up to the office and through the gate, honestly, that turned us off just for the look of it. The roads in the campground were dirt and doable even for our 5th wheel. We did not use the bathrooms/showers located near the office, they looked clean but just tired. Our site (#14) was awesome, a pull through that was... Read More

We did not use the bathrooms/showers located near the office, they looked clean but just tired. Our site (#14) was awesome, a pull through that was VERY large and it was perfect with the shade. We had torrential rain one day and there was a 8 inch 'pond' that formed in front of the firepit. We solved it by attempting to dig a small trench to empty it. But despite that, we would definitely request that site again! Maybe the campground could put some fill in that area. It was lovely and quiet and the seasonal campers were all very friendly. The only suggestion I would have beside repaving that front area would be to put a safer 'ramp' up to the dumpster, you step on a ramp that doesnt seem too stable then you have to throw your bag up about 6 feet into the dumpster.

This is an absolutely peaceful campground. The setting is heavily wooded with a natural stream and many amenities for families. Staff was very helpful and the campsites are arranged to maximize privacy. Services are well maintained at the site, and the bathrooms and showers are spotless. Fair warning, this is a relatively rustic campground in terms of the roads. A little bumpy, but WELL worth the caution, because the campsite itself was perfect. Services right where they should be, easy to access, and set up of a Class A with a dinghy in a pull through was about 12 minutes. This campground is midway between our home and our vacation place in New England. I expect it will become a regular stopping point. Next time, I'm bringing my fly rod. Stream was about 100 ft from our campsite, and I could hear the fish laughing at me from the picnic table.

Veryl nice and quiet family oriented park... Plenty of shade under the large trees that kept the sites cooler and more comfortable... Not very large sites, but larger than many other parks.. Privacy was good because of the site orientation... Some sites difficult to back into, but not impossible with a little patience... Good that I carry extra sewer line, because I needed it at the site I was in.. Camped ate site 141... Nice corner site and ample room... Highly recommend for the relaxing and... Read More

Lots to do, or do nothing at all.... just breathe! Spacious, wooded campsites are cleared enough for relaxation, campfires and outdoor dining, but left natural enough to FEEL the out of doors. Staff do their jobs in a relaxed, friendly way. The camp store has fun stuff, yummy stuff and camping necessities.
We called this park late in the afternoon on a Friday, they said they could put us in overflow (field) parking. I expected an empty field boy was I surprised. The area was at the back of the park alright but it had water, electric, cable and WIFI (no sewer). Frankly, if I were staying for some time I would prefer this quite more open area. The park area itself has narrow rough gravel roads but appears to accommodate the big rigs just fine. It has many season sites but all are kept very nice.... Read More

The bathroom we used was very small, toilet only, but extremely clean. The check-in store area was clean and busy and the staff friendly and helpful. We had pizza delivered to our camper and it was really good.

Very nice place. The bathrooms and sites are kept clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The sites are roomy and arranged to maximize privacy. This is my first visit, but definitely will be a place I stay on a regular basis.
Stayed a week here and enjoyed it. Very nice campground. Site was fairly level and electric was clean. Good hiking in the area. Restrooms were clean. Our kids are young adults now, but the younger kids in the park seemed to be enjoying themselves. We would definitely use this campground again.
This was our first year as a seasonal at Rip Van Winkle. This is a nice and well run campground. The staff are there if you run into any problems. They have kept the trees so you really feel you are in the woods. Can't wait to go back next year.
