There's not a lot of choice for RV campgrounds in November near Boone, NC so I was pleased to have found this campground which was only 20 minutes away in Foscoe. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find the campground to be a real value for the money. The campground was nearly full, probably all there for the same reason, for the App State Football game. The Camp site was clean and well maintained but narrow. We camp in a 32 ft Class C so there was room for putting out the slides but... Read More

The Camp site was clean and well maintained but narrow. We camp in a 32 ft Class C so there was room for putting out the slides but not much else. It was quiet and clean. The staff was friendly. The only negative was the tight corners in the gravel roads made it challenging to drive in and out but that's to be expected in mountain country, I suppose. We will definitely camp there again soon!

Went to the Boone area for a weekend ski trip on Sugar Mountain. It was the weekend of the 9th, and we got hit by nearly two feet of snow over night. This was great for skiing, but not so much for getting around. Fortunately, we were parked and set up well before the snow fell. Anyhow, when it was time to leave, we were pretty well snowed in. The maintenance people were all over snow removal, and kept the roads pretty clean. I saw a 5th Wheel come in after the snow fell, and they plowed their site... Read More

The maintenance people were all over snow removal, and kept the roads pretty clean. I saw a 5th Wheel come in after the snow fell, and they plowed their site on the spot. We were starting to dig out, and the guys came right over with out being asked and cleared out our path and offered to pull out out trailer if our truck couldn't get traction. We had no problems. We had a spot on the lake that was really pretty, particularly after the snow.
The sites are level and firm. All gravel, and no paved as far as I could tell. We had decent space between us and the neighbors, but I won't say the sites are large. Adequate would be the word. It was a nearly uninhabited while we were there, save for the full timers and a few people who came in for an overnight, so I can't say how crowded or rowdy it gets. Its very close to everything that the Grandfather Mountain area has to offer. An equal distance from Sugar Mountain skiing and Grandfather Mountain and the city of Boone. If you are just looking for a place to stay and see the attractions and enjoy the area, this is a perfect spot. If you're looking for a traditional camping experience, and not looking to leave the grounds, you may be a little disappointed. The staff were super friendly and easy going. No hidden fees, no attitude and professional enough to do a good job, but laid back enough to be hospitable in the Southern style.
The restrooms were a bit less than stellar. They were adequate. The showers did the trick. They were clean and tidy, just old, small and run down. I've seen worse, but I've seen much better. It's also a touch close to the main road that runs between Boone and GF Mountain. While most of the time this isn't too big of a deal, it does get a tad noises with trucks in the morning. We stayed pretty close to the highway, so I imagine if you stay a bit deeper in the campground, its less obtrusive.
TL/DR, Excellent for people looking for a place to stay, not the place for people who want to go "camping."

This campground has potential, but when you encounter a rude employee on check-in, it makes you question your decision to stay. We informed the owner the next day, and he only made excuses for her. When we checked out, the rudeness continued. We asked her which route we should take due to the elevation and we were towing a car, and she acted as if she had never heard of Asheville NC, merely 1 1/2 hours away. We did not use any facilities or the bathrooms as we were self-contained. The dog park was... Read More

Stayed in a 27 Ft. Class C with one slide out and two dogs. Pros: Beautiful Campground with one creek and one river running thru it. Late night check in was hassle free. Park was clean and spacious. Very nice dog walking and hiking trails. Cons: Nice fenced in dog park, Unfortunately it was full of dog bombs. Overview: We stayed at a great spot, A-7, right next to the river. Campground very close to many mountain activities( Grandfather Mountain, Gem mining, next door to stocked Trout pond... Read More

We've loved this campground for Two Generations! Ok so I get where some people have made comments about the state of the Bath Houses before 2017. But they recently invested heavily in renovating them and they're great now! And since that was really the only drawback, this place is the bees knees. Book early as they fill up! Ample room for RVs, Tents (Full and Primitive, BIG spaces), and Cabins onsite. Large dedicated areas for each type of campsite. Convenient to EVERYTHING to do, eat or see. This... Read More

Ample room for RVs, Tents (Full and Primitive, BIG spaces), and Cabins onsite. Large dedicated areas for each type of campsite. Convenient to EVERYTHING to do, eat or see. This campground has been in existence since the 70s (albeit different owners). My family and I have been going here since it was Foscoe Village Campground way back when. I have so many memories of this awesome place that now that I have a family of my own we go here several times a year. This is a camper's campground. For the old school and people who have fond memories of camping as a child. I do wish they would offer more selection in the general store like they used to, but it's a small space. The kids love the free hay rides. The property is massive and has tons to explore and so many people to meet. There's a great creek to walk up and places for kids to explore, ride bikes, play sports, fly kites, and adventure. All in the one place. I do miss the barn where they used to have events. But this place has been around for forever and I hope they continue to persevere! Oh and if you have elders or whatnot that don't really camp, there are cabins onsite to accommodate, so even the grandparents can come be with the family! Just as a note, we've been there as RV campers back in the day, and we are tent campers now. We've LOVED BOTH experiences! Pro-Tip: In addition to the site map PDF, there are pics of every campsite on the website gallery, so you can see/request/know your site when you book.

We stayed 4 nights at this park. The views were very nice and the people were nice. The facilities are so-so but since we have a class A and are self contained, we did not need them. When visiting this area, we prefer staying on the Parkway but needed full hookups this trip. We would stay again if we needed to.
