The Takeaway: not the usual neglected KOA this rv park boasts long sites with concrete patios, and fire pit all surrounded by landscaped grounds. Good local HD channels and steaming HD WiFi augment the experience. The buildings are well maintained and the park offers numerous amenities per their website. Close proximity to historic Wilmington offers a unique opportunity to walk the area with its notable homes along the banks of the Cape Fear River. We visited June 2019. Go to www.rickpicks.com... When ever we are traveling we tend to look for a KOA first. KOA has a reputation for being clean, well maintained campgrounds with friendly staffs. That is exactly what we found here. Everyone one we came in contact with was very friendly and nice. The pool was well maintained and the ground were well kept. The campground was full of campers that had as nice of a time as we did. The sites are large and level and included a fire pit and pick nick table. Next time we are in the area we will... Read More

This is the way all campgrounds should be. It is located in a convenient location. When you arrive, you are greeted cheerfully and escorted to your site. The sites are large and well spaced. The pool area is very nice. The camp store is well stocked, and the laundry room is air conditioned and comfortable. The bathrooms are private full bathrooms and clean. My only complaint is that the Wifi was not consistent, but I find this at every campground. A plus is the car/camper wash located next... Read More

Great place. VERY clean bathrooms. A little tricky to find. But once in very easy to navigate with a trailer. Nice playgrounds, each site has a grill and a fire ring. Very quiet also.
