The park is on a reservoir that offers boating and fishing. There are five boat ramps near the entrance to the park, and a marina and a small bait & tackle shop about a mile away. There used to be a restaurant at the marina but it is closed while searching for a new concessionaire. It is about 5 miles from the boat ramps to the campground. The electric loop sites are back-in paved asphalt, essentially level and well spaced apart. There are several water hydrants scattered along the loop for refilling water tanks, all on the inside of the loop. There is a small camp store at the campground office. The bathhouse exterior seemed to be in the process of renovation as all of the siding had been removed. There are two toilets and three showers in the men's side and similar facilities on the women's side. The bathhouse cleanliness was about average. There is a laundry in the bathhouse and a playground nearby. There is a small "camper's beach" on the lake a short hike from the campground. Dumpsters are located at the exit to the electric loop as well as the exit to the non-electric loop. There is a dump station about a mile from the campground. There were no recycling bins that we saw. The campground loop seems to be a popular area for cruising as there was a constant flow of traffic in both directions for the entire weekend we were there. It seems to be an "anything goes" local campground as there were cars parked everywhere on the grass and multiple tents alongside many motor homes.

We visited Buck Creek State Park as our first actual state park facility. It was one of the most beautiful parks. It was clean & laid out very nice. Everyone was friendly & helpful. We met friends of ours there that stayed in a primitive tent camping site. It was awesome too. We all had a great time! We will go here again for sure!
No water in the main camping area, shower had standing water and cleanliness' was far from standard. Very old facility, electric is 30amp and hookup were in very poor repair and need a rehab to 50 amp. If you are passing thru this work but for a longer stay I would make another selection.
