We're sort of new to camping and this was only our 6th night, but this was a very nice park. It's about two miles from Lake Murray, they have boat storage, and it's very convenient to Ardmore. The facilities are very clean, and if you have dogs, their free-play area is spotless, and with a six foot fence, it's close to escape proof. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help us. We will make plans to stay there again whenever we're in the area, and highly recommend it to everyone. Read More

We stayed here for an overnight and it is a very nice park. It’s close to I-35, but far enough away so you don’t have road noise. The sites are very spacious and they have an excellent dog park. The shower and bathroom are top notch and the park is well kept. They also have propane, which is a big plus. Only reason is doesn’t get a 5 is no cable. I’d definitely stay here again.

Having such a hard time finding a spot at lake Murray we chose to spend our summers at by the lake rv park. The past couple of summers were amazing but at the end of last summer the previous owners sold the park. I was hoping to have the same experience I previously had. Boy was I wrong. The new owners don't seem to have much hand in the operating of the park. We started our summer stay this year the beginning of May. We were paid up till the 1st of September but chose to leave early and forfeit about a week we were already paid for just to be free from this park. The first couple of months were not bad but at the end of July things turned south real fast. The district manager came to observe the park due to the occupancy being low. First off the 4th of July this year there were lots of empty spot which was very uncommon due to previous years. They had always allowed guest to park boats, jet skis and extra vehicles in the two over flow lots. We were told within the first week that the district manager was there to move our stuff from the back lots (that the park manager at the time allotted for extended stay guest) to the front because they were going to revamp the back lot and start charging for parking. This might have not been a issue if I was not already paying almost $700/mo. We were told we would have to pay per thing we had in overflow. I just do happen to have 3 kids that all drive so this was going to cost a lot real fast. Then the general manager informed me that we were not allowed to have guest come to visit our spot we paid for because this park was for temporary stays and not extended stays. Then she complained about our chairs outside as if we were not allowed to enjoy being outside. Next my daughters boyfriend was banned from driving in the park because he parked at our neighbors camper (they gave us permission to park there during the week because they only came on the weekends and we were informed that was against the rules) and because she did not like his horn or his music ( even if it was during the day and not quiet hours). He just so happen to had just started a job at the park doing maintenance and when the big manager came she fired him because she did not want to work around his school schedule. It was one thing after another all of which I was threatened to be kicked out for. Never have I had so many issues as I did in just the 2 weeks the district manager was there before we left. Unfortunately not a lot of people camp in the winter time so the extended stay people are important to keeping the park running in the off season. The general manager fired the park manager, all park employees quit and close to 10 extended stay people chose to move to a different park. The last couple of days we were there the pool was so green we would not swim in it and the bathrooms were gross. Please choose a different park for your stay if you want a peaceful place to stay.

We stayed at By The Lake RV Park Resort twice this month. 1st time heading North and again 2 weeks later when we were heading home. This park has the friendliest staff. You feel welcome when you enter the office. Very clean, wide & level sites. We didn’t get to check out all the enemies since both stays were overnight stops
Had some sandburs and ants in grassy areas otherwise, a very nice park. Personnel were always friendly and accommodating.
This was our first stay at this park and we were very happy. Great roads, easy access and very level sites. Trees are young so limited shade but that will improve with time. Very quiet park but well spaced during the Covid outbreak. Staff was super helpful and friendly. They had some of the fastest WiFi service I have ever had in an RV Park. We did not get a chance to fish in their lake but we will be back to try that amenity. Great park and I would highly recommend staying with them.
Welcoming staff was friendly and efficient. Paved site was level and even. Utility hookups were well placed. Sewer drain was only slightly below coach manifold level so draining was a bit slow. WiFi was more than adequate. RR's and laundry are centrally located and clean. Some train noise at night but no worse than in a park close to a freeway or airport.
Pro's and Con's Con's: My dog hurt his leg in the dog park. which required us to leave a day earlier than we wanted, the dog park is basically a fenced in area with 2 fire hydrants. He was chasing a ball and hit a hole which tumbled him and hurt his left hind leg. So pet owners be safe. 2nd con about 5 to 530 am you can hear numerous truck vehicles start and rev engines getting ready to go to work, therefore sleeping in not much of an option. Pro's: Staff is very polite, friendly and helpful, bathroom and shower facilities are excellent and very clean. Fishing pond on property as well as a game room. Setup was easy, full hookups, wife and cable ( bring a cable cord of at least 15 ft). Overall besides the 2 con's great facility and will visit again.

We only stayed one night but the staff was friendly and the campground was well maintained. Will stay again.
Great Place!! Clean and peaceful .. Lovely spot!!
Very nice park - quiet, clean, very very nice staff! Easy in and out for travel! Very safe! Large concrete pads! We did hear Cayo tea in the near distance so keep dogs on leash!! Nice rainbow in morning with a short lived shower!
This was 4th time to park, very nice place this time we took our dogs, has very large park for dogs . Office staff was friendly and helpful. There is no trees yet so shade isn't there yet. Would not hesitate to come back again.
We really wanted to like this park, it has great reviews and a decent location. I will start with the good parts of our experience. Easy to find, good access, wide driveways/roads, brand new facilities. The dog park (more like a dog run) was very large and well kept. We did not use the bath house or laundry facility, but the both looked nice. Water pressure was excellent and the concrete site was level. The location was both good and horrible at the same time.
Close enough to arbuckle wilderness, turner falls, and a couple of other attractions. Keep reading for the down side.
Now, for the not so good.
We changed our reservation length before our arrival, because of the weather forecast. The staff, which was somewhat helpful, said we would have to go through "RoverPass". Keep in mind we tried to work with them up to this point and have not had much luck. We finally got a reply from RoverPass, saying the park still had us checked in and leaving on the 23rd. That's funny, because we checked out on the 22nd. Definitely will not be using RoverPass again.
The lady who checked us in was very direct and to the point, not much more. She wasn't rude or disrespectful, just wasn't very pleasant.
My kids and wife quickly found their way to the play ground, while I was setting things up. We have 2 year old twins and 2 older preteens. This playground was acceptable for the older kids, but DEFINITELY NOT for a 2 year old.
The worst part about this park is the close proximity to a very active railroad. By active I mean, active at all times of the day and night. You can only imagine what this was like with 2 year old twins.
The crappy'est part of the park was the sewer dump was actually right at the same height or just above the dump valves on our 5'er. This provided to be rather challenging.
One other frustrating thing (more confusing really). They sell firewood, but do not have fire pits...

Blazing Wifi! We enjoyed our stay at this park in October 2017. It is a new park so there are pluses and minuses. First the negative - the trees have not yet grown up, but once they do it will be lovely. Right now it appears to be a parking lot when seen from the main road, but looks can be deceiving. The layout is awesome! They have enough turning radius for the largest of rigs, even with toads. The sites are far enough apart that you can open your slides without worrying about covering... The layout is awesome! They have enough turning radius for the largest of rigs, even with toads. The sites are far enough apart that you can open your slides without worrying about covering a neighbors picnic table. Nearly every site is pull-thru with level concrete pads. Water pressure and power were never an issue, despite being in a rural area.
The restrooms are clean, brand new and spacious.
The staff was super friendly and helpful.
But the best part was the Wifi. Even with a fairly full campground everyone was streaming video without buffering.
We will be staying there again!

This place is the bomb diggity!!! Immaculate beautiful grounds, quiet, pet area is extremely safe to let your fur babies exercise and potty. Showers, laundry room and restrooms in stand alone building if you need it. We pulled in, hooked up and had dinner outside at the clean picnic table right outside our door. I would highly recommend this resort.
We stayed here twice now, once over Memorial weekend and again 2 weeks later. It is nice to have a large dog park for the dogs to play at. The kids loved the pool and the playground. Everything is well kept and clean. All of the staff is very friendly. They had a special things going on over Memorial weekend for the kids. very nice facility, exceptional dog park, friendly hosts. park is new and is being well maintained. arrived monday afternoon after a busy holiday weekend and the park was pristene. returned the following week with the same experieince. had a nice paved, level pull thru spot near the dog park and bath/laundry. viewed deer and coyote at different times in distance.
Very clean and well maintained park. Highly recommend it to anyone.
The was our 2nd stay. Came for a quick getaway for the holiday weekend. It was just as wonderful as our first. Cannot say enough about this place, the staff and the owners. Looking forward to our next visit,
We stayed here for two nights in May,2017. The park is beautiful. There is a nice dog park if you are traveling with furry family members. The sites are mostly pull thru sites. It just so happened that we were caught in a tornado warning and severe thunder storm during our stay. I'm so glad this property had a storm shelter. The staff was amazing and they have employees that live onsite. We arrived and received a nice schedule of activities for the family like arts and crafts and an all day pool... Read More

2nd stay was great just like last one. This time we had our club down. Park has great layout, very clean, would recommend this park and will be back. There is trains nearby you hear some, but did not bother us. Worth the trip to stay at this park.
We stopped at By the Lake to and from Houston. The park is brand new with concrete pads and a large dog park. The bathrooms and showers are very, very nice. The laundry is more than adequate. There aren't too many campers here but it is March! The park is very easy to get to and it's very easy to find your assigned site. The people at the front desk are extremely helpful and very nice. The pool is very pretty but it was too cold to swim in March.
We will definitely return when traveling south!

This was our first RV Trip Park, had a great time. Newer park, not many people, weekend trip. The Park was excellent, clean, and very easy to get to, huge dog run, our dogs loved it. The mangers/staff were helpful, friendly. Yes, we will be back, and recommend this park to others.
Awesome! Friendly, attentive owners/staff. Impressive check-in lodge, Pool. Fenced dog run -- large! Concrete pull-thru with grass, trees planted for shade. Stocked lake on site and close to state park. Will stay here again and encourage you to make your reservations now. This place will be THE PLACE to get into in a couple years -- become familiar with it NOW. We SO enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
This a great rv park, very nice layout, has asphalt roads with concrete pads with patios and tables. New park, not much shade yet as they have new trees planted. Things for kids, loved the game room. Have pool, fishing pond. Bathrooms are awesome, very nice tiled showers. On site mangers were GREAT, very helpful and friendly. Was easy to find off I-35 and exit # 24. This RV resort is excellent. We stayed for 3 nights. It is very easy to get to - both the park & individual site. Great signage on the interstate & to the RV resort. Exceptionally clean and well kept. Entire staff is helpful & friendly from reservation to checkout. We didn't have children or pets with us, but this is a good place to bring both. We will stay here again when in the area.
