The site is well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff also recommending hikes and other outdoor activities. The campsite is located next to the train tracks where trains run during the night as well. This is the main disadvantage for this place located in the hart of the gorge. This may however be similar for most campsites in the narrow gorge.
This is an OLD KOA and hasn't been maintained. In my opinion it's NOT worth the money. The roads are VERY narrow. Sites are small. We only stayed 1 night.
Cascade Locks KOA office staff were friendly and helpful. However, that does not overcome the negatives this KOA has. While the roads are paved, the roads are very narrow and entrance into sites is narrow, and there are too many trees with low overhanging branches near the road and at sites. I would not recommend a Class A motorhome 35 ft or longer use this KOA. Also, the BNSF railroad tracks are about 200 yards from the KOA. The train hauling freight passes by the KOA about every 2 hours throughout... Read More

The train hauling freight passes by the KOA about every 2 hours throughout the night and blows its whistle as it approaches a crossing so it wakes you up every 2 hours. Shore power is very good, Wifi signal was poor and unusable, bath/shower house was dated, but adequate, and cable TV channel selection was limited with poor reception. RV Pilot

I have heard the complaints about the train, the Columbia River Gorge has trains on both sides of the river. This campground is beautiful, in the middle of the gorge and Cascade Mountains. It is very wooded with beautiful old Douglas Firs. This is what campgrounds should be!!!! We love this campground and so should everyone else. The views are beautiful, the Bridge of the Gods is right down the road!!!
