The must have been some major improvements since the last reviews. The bathrooms are brand new and there are two of them. We arrived in the rain and were upgraded to a padded site at no extra charge due to the weather. The folks in the office were super nice. The campground is conveniently located to I-77, however it may be noisy at night, not sure yet. We did not have to check in at the Valero gas station so we had no experience with that issue. Charlotte KOA was tolerable for my purposes in the region, and they seem to be active in making improvements. There seem to be some long-term residents, but I can't imagine staying there for more than a few days, and I certainly would not plan to return.

The staff was rude, they had taken our reservation on line and the family in front of us by phone, neither of us got the site type we had booked. Very disappointed in this KOA!
