First, the two ladies in the office at check-in and out were extremely friendly. I know campgrounds sometimes have small sites, but most of their sites are a little claustrophobic. The pool is great after a day of touring Charleston. However, the restrooms could use updating and you definitely need to be on the lookout for snakes in the restroom. My daughter had one join her in the shower!
A very nice and mostly quiet (except for the occasional train that passes nearby) campground. It appeared most of the existing "pads" were road base rock, which "settles" during the stay, plus cars driving by on the roads made of that material make more noise than if they were on dirt road or paved roads. They have cleared some land and are putting in another dozen or more concrete pad sites which will be a very nice expansion. But the people running the place were very nice, our neighbors were... But the people running the place were very nice, our neighbors were nice and there were a good many permanent or long-term residents at the park. There are beautiful lakes and trees, hammocks to relax in, etc. They have bath house and laundry, but we didn't really use either of those.

Staff screwed up 3 reservations we made back 5 months ago. This after one resident called day before to confirm. Couldn't add a night to stay with assigned site due to incompetent software, park rep told me software was meant for hotels, so no sites can be assigned before actual check in. Low hanging tree limbs, told park maintenance guy twice but in 6 days they never took care of issue. Roads were riddled with pot holes, and I mean many ans some 3-4 inches deep, great to drive rig through. I, as... Read More

We stayed here in a 45-foot motorhome while visiting Charleston. We were here three nights, arriving right after a heavy rainstorm. There were puddles in the roads but park staff was busy on a grader, smoothing and leveling the roads out and putting gravel in the puddles. Park is beautiful with a lake, complete with several pairs of ducks, in the center. There is a large pavilion for shade and benches and even hammocks by the lake! We weren't traveling with children but there is a big playground... Read More

Bathrooms were very clean and nice. Didn't use the pool. We would definitely stay again. Pull-thru sites are very long.

This campground is a swamp. I was placed in a site which was a lake with an area of gravel just large enough for my 22' travel trailer but had to get my feet wet getting in and out. There were other sites available, not as bad as mine but the office staff would not allow me to move to a better location because "other campers were coming in". However, those sites remained vacant during my stay. There are RV owners living permanently in this park who get up at five AM to go to work with loud... Read More

There were other sites available, not as bad as mine but the office staff would not allow me to move to a better location because "other campers were coming in". However, those sites remained vacant during my stay. There are RV owners living permanently in this park who get up at five AM to go to work with loud trucks and gravel road noise. The roads are dirt or gravel in poor repair with mud holes and standing water. Muscovy ducks roam the park with accompanying scattered feces: made for me having wet stinking soiled dogs when they had to go out(and back in). This campground is convenient to Charleston, but next time I will gladly trade a longer commute to avoid this facility.

Sorry to say but I had a bad stay at this campground. First let me say that this is a very nice campground. That's about it though. Many issues, both customer service and facilities itself. First I made reservations 2 months prior for a 50a full hookup pull thru site. Checked in, got all my paperwork, instructions on how to get to the site, and away we went. When we got to the site, I had a 30a full hookup site. Called the office and they did nothing. Girl said there are no other sites open. I... Read More

I said that there were 3 sites on my row empty with 50a service. She said that they were taken. So after an hour of them promising to help, I set up camp and worked off 1 AC at a time to make it work. Never heard another word. I asked if the manager could do something and never received a call back or stop by. Nothing.
Second. There are no paved roads coming in, throughout, or going out. Potholes and holes filled with mud that you have to drive thru to get in. Now multiply the issue when towing your Harley behind the coach. Unbelievable.
Third.
Rained the second night for 2 hours. Hard rain. Completely swamped out all the site near me. I had two inches of water on my patio pad on a pad that was half covered with stones and the other hard mud.
Forth.
They never, and I mean never, respond to messages after them never answering a phone. Call them for an issue, the fax line picks up. Terrible customer service
Fifth.
Stayed 4 days, pool out of order 3 of the 4 days. Mind you, after walking around Charleston in 95 degree heat with 90% humidity, you could really use a pool. When walking all the way to the front office, because they don't answer a phone, the explanation is they're doing maintenance. My coach was directly across the street from the pool. Never seen anyone working on the pool in 3 days.
Sixth.
The dryer in the laundry room (the only one working out of 3) took 5 times to somewhat dry the closthes. Jeans were still damp. Although the office did say that they would refund some of the money.
Such a shame. Beautiful campground if it was run right!

An older park, but seems to have some money sunk into it recently. Quiet except for the occasional train, which isn't often and is quickly gone. It's a natural type of park, with gravel roads and gravel/grass sites. Everything was in working order and all the sites are pull-through. There's a lot of permanent campers and there is also tent camping.
Nice park with level sites. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay.
This campground is located about 12 miles southwest of downtown Charleston. It is in a generally quiet area away from highways but you may hear a passing train at night. Most sites are pull throughs. There are some "seasonal" sites some of which are not too attractive. There is a pool that we didn't use. The free WiFi was spotty but generally worked for us. The bathrooms were not kept particularly clean. You walk across a grass and dirt area before walking into the bathroom so the floor seemed... Read More

We had a full hook up site with 50 amp electric and paid about $34 per night with Passport America.

We arrived late in the afternoon, which made the park a haven for weary travelers. The staff were very nice, the park is secluded, quiet, and felt very safe and comforting. We were able to get a good nights rest and continue our journey the next morning. If we are in the area and need to stop for a peaceful rest, we will return with no hesitation.
This could be a very nice campground. The sites are level. The people are nice. They have a nice pool and a fish pond (catch & release - no license required) with a park bench and several picnic tables so you can watch the ducks, frogs and turtles. BUT...the roads are narrow and not maintained. There are huge potholes that fill up with muddy water when it rains, and there are a lot of permanent and seasonal residents who don't keep their RVs or their sites clean. Not a bad place for an overnight stay.
We have been calling for two days straight left a few messages. No one returned our calls even though the recording said they would. I registered online and still have never heard back from this campground. We decided to try anyway. Showed up there was a sign on the door "park full", at lunch back at 2:00pm. We had to drive through the park to turn around so we did and on our way out the office was open. They did have some sites with water and electric so we decided to stay. The sites were... Read More

We had to drive through the park to turn around so we did and on our way out the office was open. They did have some sites with water and electric so we decided to stay. The sites were all mud with some rock here and there. Never again. This park is a complete bust. To talk to someone in the office you have to drive down the road to the office and hope someone is there, because no one answers the phone.
As of yet 4 days later no one called us or responded to our online reservation

One month reservation made initially in July 2015 for one month stay from March 1 through April 1, 2016 for a total fee of $602.00.. Reservation confirmed January 12, 2016 and again in February, 2016. Arrived early afternoon March 1, 2016 and advised that a one (1) month site available was not available and so we must stay in a one (1) week site for more than $40.00 per day and if and only if someone vacates a one (1) month site (who knows when) would then have to move to the one (1) month site... Arrived early afternoon March 1, 2016 and advised that a one (1) month site available was not available and so we must stay in a one (1) week site for more than $40.00 per day and if and only if someone vacates a one (1) month site (who knows when) would then have to move to the one (1) month site but would have to pay the weekly rate or daily rate. No prior contact from owner or manager and no owner or manager on site to discuss the abysmal manner in which administration of the park reservations was handled. This manner of dealing was unacceptable, but due to the lateness of the day we decided to stay one night and seek accomodations elsewhere. We were successful and are leaving after one night never to return.
In addition, as we approached our designated evening site we were disappointed by the less than welcoming ambiance of the park. Arriving at our site we found two (2) empty beer cases and other debris at our site. The roads are dirt and not well maintained... Scratch that, there appears to be no attempt to maintain the park infrastructure. Overall a disappointing and irritating experience. The only positive that I have observed is that the wi-fi is better than the last rv park in which we stayed. That said it is hardly worth the daily charge for this field of unpleasant dreams.
We will never consider staying here again. Are disappointed in the rating given this park by Good Sam and AAA as well as others.

Sometimes what makes an RV Park special is the quality of its guests. Lake Aire is just that kind of place. The sites are grass and gravel but large enough for any rig, most are pull throughs. There are some seasonal guests that could stand to clean up, but they are isolated away from the transient sites. We enjoyed a very pleasant visit and will definitely return. All of the guests were great people, full of jokes and stories that help make this place special.

When it rains it's not good. Drainage issues. Needs gravel or concrete pads. Leveling sites would help a lot.
