There is much to love about NMB Dry Dock Marina and Resort: clean facilities, good location, spacious sites. We started planning a return visit almost immediately our first stay in June 2021, at which point I called to speak to the staff to make sure we would return at a time our kids could enjoy the water slide. The slide had been a huge hit with our kids, and I wanted to make sure we would return at a time they could enjoy it (and the adults could enjoy not being harassed for a few hours at a... Read More

We started planning a return visit almost immediately our first stay in June 2021, at which point I called to speak to the staff to make sure we would return at a time our kids could enjoy the water slide. The slide had been a huge hit with our kids, and I wanted to make sure we would return at a time they could enjoy it (and the adults could enjoy not being harassed for a few hours at a time!). Over the phone, I was told by staff that, as the paperwork and website indicated, it would be open daily until Labor Day depending on staffing, it might be open for some weekends following, but no guarantee.
Based on that conversation, we decided to book for August, understanding that the peak rate included access to the slide and was well worth it.
Our August visit started on a Sunday, and the kids were able to catch an hour of slide time before it closed. However, there was no lifeguard present (so the slide could operate) the next day. Or the next day. Or the next day. Repeated visits and inquires to the office resulted in slightly different answers, the bottom line of which was that there was no lifeguard scheduled for the week. Most of the regular lifeguards had gone back to school and were unavailable.
We understand this. Recent times have been challenging for nearly everyone, and staffing has been difficult in nearly every industry. However, we felt it was reasonable to at least request a refund for the difference between a regular and peak season stay, since the promised availability of the slide – represented on paperwork we had in hand and on the website as well as per the conversation I had with staff on the phone – was not delivered, and made a difference in our young family’s stay. Unfortunately, this suggestion was met with derision and complete lack of concern for the resort’s failure to provide advertised amenities.
We understand staffing doesn’t always work out as planned, but if you are unable to keep your promises, at least some effort at understanding or trying to do something to make it right goes a long way in the world of customer service. A beautiful facility is a fine great place to start, but a family’s experience can be soured when it experiences complete disregard for meeting expectations created by your own promotional materials.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was super nice and always going out of there way to ensure the guest were having a good time. Large sites, a lot of activities for the kiddos. This park is good for a weekly stay or a weekend get away. I could stay here all summer. The Intracoastal waterway was neat to see the boats and the kids even swam in it. Oh did I mention the bathrooms, great shape! If you have not stopped by you should. We will be back!
What a great place! Large sites and plenty of room for my coach. Easy to get in and make the turns. Concrete pads, firepits, picnic tables. Lots of amenities and great veiws. I enjoyed swinging on the swings and watching the boats go by. One day my wife and I rented a pontoon and took it down the river to Barefoot Landing, the trip was full of scenic views and we ate and shopped. Really cool! Defiantly a place to come back to. The facilties were spotless. In the TOP 5 places I have stayed at!
Beautiful new RV park. Whether a short or long stay sides are large and facilities very clean. Interesting fact, all the doors are hand painted. New pool with waterside. Watch the boats on the Intercoastal Waterway.
