Red Mud pit. Owner must have scored a deal on his dirt because any drop of rain your camper is covered in red clay mud that stains everything. Impossible to navigate riding a motorcycle in this area when wet. Pile of stone blocking walkway to bathhouse, should have spread it around the roadway to create stability. Only bonus is large spacious lots and Next door is 99 cent all you can eat pancakes but not worth it the muddy mess that this place experiences during the slightest amount of rain.
We are full time RVers and stayed at this park from April until September in a back-in site. I give this park 5 stars across the board for several reasons. 1. Extremely friendly and helpful from the initial call until the day we pulled out. Allowed us to stay early in the season even though the park was not officially open. Very dog friendly! We have two German Shepherds and the owners always gave us doggy loves when out on our walks. 2. Owners and staff always available and friendly. Stop at... Read More

Stop at the office and have a cold one. Everyone is like family here, even if you are just staying one night. All staff is very knowledgeable regarding the area if you have any questions or if you are looking for specific suggestions.
3. The park is clean!! The grounds and the restrooms both remained very clean. Being full time, I work remotely and I could always see the hustle and bustle of the staff. The owners always have boots on the ground as well. Everyday there were improvements happening in the park. In the 5 months I was there, I watched major site improvements as well as just keeping clean and tidy. Chatting with the owners, big plans for next season as well!
4. Cant beat the location. Just outside of Rapid City keeps you from in town hustle and bustle. You are within an hours drive off just about all surrounding areas. And the sunsets from behind the park..no words. Every night I would take my dog for a walk and watch the sunset behind the black hills. Spectacular.
There is so much to do here, we did not finish everything on our list. We will coming back next year, to this same park. Cant beat the hospitality!

DO NOT STAY. This was a disappointment from the very first day. Wifi is pretty much non-existent and customer service was no-where to be had. The email I sent the owners when I returned home from my vacation is below. I strongly recommend you find somewhere else to stay. Campground was NOT well maintained, Showers and restrooms were very old and poorly maintained. I took one shower at their facility, and the drain was clogged. I ended up showering ankle deep in drain water. To whom it may concern... Read More

To whom it may concern -
Not sure if anyone is even reading this, or will even care, but I wanted to convey just how disappointing my stay was at your facility. Our challenges doing business with you started on our very first day. We arrived and no one was available at check-in. We had to call to check in. This was a bit of a challenge given the poor cell reception at the time. But we made it through that challenge. Then came getting into our assigned slot. I use the word slot very carefully because that is about all we had. There was just enough room for us to get in and open our two sliders. We could not open our canopy in fear it would overhang the space adjacent to us. Shortly after we arrived, a larger Class A motor home parked next to us. They has so little room, they could not open their canopy unless we pulled in one of our sliders.
In speaking with others at your facility, I quickly learned that others were just as disappointed as I was at the spaces. Aside from the fact that there was virtual no space between the sites, power quickly became an issue. We lost power a few times during the first day. In speaking with others in our “row’, the power issues appeared to be contained to ur row of RV slots. The power issues must have been coming from the main panel controlling our row.
Another issue I, as well as many others had, was the lay-out of the camp sites. I realize the cost savings to you, the owners, trying to connect two RVs to the same power pad and sewer access. But what that created was everyone’s RV doors opening straight across from our neighbor. All other campsites I have visited our front door opened to the backside (power/utility side) of our neighbor. This gives everyone a slight sense of privacy. But not at your facility…no…we were front door to front door.
Yet another issue was the wifi. Your website made specific mention of the powerful wifi signal you had, touting that you could even stream from it. Well, on our first day, we were able to find your wifi, but the signal was too weak to connect. This did not matter much since as soon as the big Class A rig pulled in next to us, we were completely blocked from the signal all together. Five nights at your facility and we were never able to even find your wifi signal after the first few hours of our arrival.
And this brings me to my final disappointment. Customer service (as in the lack therein). We tried to contact someone when the power kept going out…no luck. We tried several times to contact someone regarding the lack of wifi signal…no response. In both the email and text we received at check-in, both stated that we should contact management by replying to the text or email. Which we did. During the entire 5 day stay, we never saw anyone from your facility or never heard from anyone. The last sound we heard from you folks was the slde of our our credit card. Of course, after the first few hours, we were discussing amount our group, and others at the RV Park about getting a refund and finding someplace else. But then we read you terms and conditions - which pretty much said one you had our money, there were no refunds after check-in.
While there is no doubt that your facility was the absolute worse place we had stayed not only during this vacation, but all our vacations…we did learn a few things. First and most important, walk into the park and see what the park offers and how it is laid out. Then talk to a few of the guests (or victims in your case) to see what they think. Had we done this BEFORE checking in, we would never had checked in.
Again, given the complete lack of response or customer service provided during our stay, I have very little confidence anyone from your facility we read or even care about how your guests felt about their stay. But since we did find your site by going through the Good Sam website, we will post our comments there as well. Hopefully, it might protect the next family from such great disappointment.

Budget friendly campground with reasonable drives to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Wind Cave, etc. it was close to the interstate and shopping. We saw other campgrounds closer to main attractions that would be more of a hassle to get to with a full size rig. Property has new sewer hookups but is almost entirely grass. When we arrived, it was raining and my Bluebird Wanderlodge got stuck trying to get situated at the site. The owner helped by placing boards under the wheels while I rocked it... Read More

Staff was friendly and laundry room was clean. Did not use the showers.
Some gravel would go a long way...

This is a very convenient campground and well maintained. We didn't use the restrooms but given the care of the rest of the campground they had to be acceptable. And if you are going to do the FT Hayes/Black Hills/Mt Rushmore tour it is right next door.
