Very basic campground located right in Wall, next to Wall Drug. I arrived 40 min before check in time and had to pay an early fee, even though the campground was less than 25% full, my site was empty and I told attendant I would not hook up to any services until after check in time. Also found the washrooms and showers were not kept clean after the morning rush. The internet was very poor, constantly getting dropped.
This park has a great location in Wall SD near Badlands NP. It has a few nice trees, spotty grass and gravel. Site amenities are good except no cable TV, which I expected for $45 (GS rate). The pool was closed (cracked, we were told), and washing machines at $2.75 were a bit expensive I thought.
We stayed one night in a 35' Class A with toad. Stayed here specifically to go to Wall Drug in the AM and let's face it there are few options in the area. Park was mostly empty. Gave the place a rather spooky feel. Did not use the other facilities if open. Did not interact with staff. Paid online and found a map in a box at the office that had a freeze warning attached that was a little off-putting. Site was large enough level gravel with decent hook-ups. Served it's purpose, buuuutttt.... Read More

A comment on a previous review a lot of gravel looked to have been laid down mostly by the office and entrance but the area was still quite rough - maybe just not done yet.

Convenient to Wall Drug and Badlands but definitely a no frills campground. Roads into and through the campground are not well maintained, sites very close together, train tracks right beside the campground and the advertised wifi was virtually non existent That being said, there's not a lot of other options in the area. Most people came in late and left early the next day.
When we arrived and checked in the staff was pleasant. We were in site 10A and 10B. The site is long that why I chose as we were pulling. The hookups are at the back of the site not in the middle and the sewer electric and water all in one spot not separated. We smelled something horrific and noticed that sewage was coming out of the dump site on both sites. We were in site 10A and 10B.
The site is long that why I chose as we were pulling.
The hookups are at the back of the site not in the middle and the sewer electric and water all in one spot not separated.
We smelled something horrific and noticed that sewage was coming out of the dump site on both sites.
We went back up to office and before we even said what the issue was we were told hope you don't want to switch sites we are full tonight.
She then called the owner I assumed and she said you might see him cry.
As we are going back we see a gentleman stop at a pump station and we asked if he was who she called.
He said I can't talk I am frustrated I just put new pumps in 2 months ago. He then came down and told my husband it should be fixed in an hour.
It did eventually stop but we never hooked up to fresh water as we didn't trust that the fresh water wasn't compromised as the sewage was seeping into the ground right next to the dump site.
Also they never say on their site the pool is closed because they have a leak somewhere and can't keep it clean.
The restrooms and the laundry are the best part of the park.
I would expect they would of discounted our site but not a mention of the good faith gesture.
If you are desperate and really want to stay in Wall then take a chance.. But until they upgrade the park and fix the big holes in road I would not return.

A no frills campground within sight and walking distance of Wall Drug. A good location for the Badlands and the Minuteman Missile tour. We walked to Wall Drug and had to crawl under a stopped train to get back to the park. The train stops several times a day and shuts down most of the traffic in town. From the reviews I read this is the nicest park in Wall.
Lovely campground and park. The facililty is clean and the people are friendly. We would plan to stay again.
Great spot for overnight to visit Wall Drug. Well maintained level gravel sites. Wifi clocked 24mbs. Amazing. YMMV. Would stay here again.
Nice clean restrooms, easy to get in and out of. Great location to Wall Drug. I was really impressed with the nice big pet area for the dogs to run, a dog actually has room to run and play fetch. The pool and playground area for the kids was average.
Location is great, close to many attractions. The Wi-Fi is the worst that we have encountered throughout the country. The only time you can get on is mid day when everyone is out touring. Dial up is better than the connections here,
We have had a difficult trip to say the least with a very costly mechanical breakdown of our Trailer. After spending 4 nights at Sleepy Hollow, we decided to cut our time here short and head for the Wisconsin Dells to try to enhance the family fun of the trip. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of pre-booking our site. I went up to the office 24 hours prior in order to ask that we might be given one night back off the end of our stay. I was told, quite coldly, that I would have to speak to the boss about that. She was currently cleaning the restrooms. We spent the day at Rushmore and when I returned, I went up to the office to again ask for the day back. The owner stated that it was not the policy. I tried to reason, but that was not an option. I then stated that in good spirit, I would like to give our site to someone else (kind of like paying for the person behind you at Starbucks). She actually laughed. This is that kind of place.
The campground is spotless and neat in most areas. But this comes at a cost. The bathrooms are closed for two hours each day and that can be pretty inconvenient. One other funny thing is that you don't even get a fire ring on your site until you buy wood from the office. There are lots of controls and policies in place here, and that contributes, I'm sure, to how the place empties out each day.
The dog park is very nice. The pool, however, is pretty gross. When we used the pool, we had to skim many, many insects off the top of the water. I'm not sure if that's because their filter is not working or just due to poor maintenance.
Most people come in late in the evening and are gone early the next morning. This is not really a place you would like to stay more than one day. We made the mistake of signing up to stay five. We will make sure not to stay here again as there are other campgrounds available in the area for a similar price. There is nothing special here.

This is a very nice campground. We were having problems with our truck and they helped us with names for a mechanic. We only reserved for one night and didn't know if we would have to stay longer. They put a hold on the campsite for us in case we needed it another night. They also said it would be o.k. to unload our truck camper if necessary, fortunately we were able to continue on our journey. Would stay there again if we were passing through the area.
They went above and beyond for their customers. While we were there we heard a tornado warning and the owner/manager? quickly invited all the RVers to their home nearby the office. Our pets were also welcomed there. They had a basement and an upstairs full of people and dogs who were thankful to be inside and not in campers. Would definitely reserve here again.
Very clean, friendly and minutes from downtown.
