This was our first time staying at this park and we can see its enormous appeal on a spit of land sticking out into Chickamauga Lake, despite the fact that we were only overnighting at this park. It definitely is worth a return stay of longer duration. The park is operated by Hamilton County, Tennessee and there is a slightly higher rate for non-residents of that county. Even so, the rate was most reasonable. We travel in a 22 foot Class B van conversion which has a telephone booth sized sit down... Read More

Even so, the rate was most reasonable. We travel in a 22 foot Class B van conversion which has a telephone booth sized sit down shower so the bathing facilities at any RV park we stay at is an amenity we weigh very heavily in any review. Hence, the focus of this review. We had site 157 which was next to one of the restrooms/bathhouses. This site is in the Windy Hill area of the campground. From what I observed while driving through the entire campground, the sites in this area are a bit more spacious and spread apart than in other area. The bathhouse in the center of the Windy Hill area had nice clean restrooms and a number of individual lockable shower rooms, each with a nice sized shower stall and an adjoining drying/dressing area. I do not know if this is the case in the other areas of the park, but I can say that this particular bathhouse clearly rivals and even surpasses the bathhouses at many privately-owned RV parks that we have stayed in across the country.

We absolutely love this place. We stay here at least 5 or 6 times a year. The RV sites are great, power and water. All the staff at the park are very helpful and make the place safe.
