We spent 4 days here over Easter weekend, April 2019. Upon the first arrival, the campground seemed small and secluded. The office was closed and they had a list on the door for arrivals after closing. The list showed your last name and site number, along with a notice asking you to check in the following morning. Staff was really friendly and very helpful. We had site D5, which was a pull-through site. Our rig overall length (truck and camper) is approximately 42'. The site was plenty long enough... Read More

Staff was really friendly and very helpful. We had site D5, which was a pull-through site. Our rig overall length (truck and camper) is approximately 42'. The site was plenty long enough to accommodate us. Setting up was a breeze! The gravel site was perfectly level side to side. Utilities were conveniently located and looked to be in good condition. The 30amp electric connection showed a consistent 119-120 volts on our surge protector. The sewer connection has the screw in type of connection for worry-free waste removal. The site was relatively narrow but satisfactory. The site included a picnic bench and fire ring, both of which were in good condition. The bathhouse was immaculate. All the bathrooms and shower rooms were individual. The shower rooms contained a toilet, sink, and shower. Although we didn't use them, there seemed to be adequate laundry facilities. There is a nice open field for recreation and a walking trail along the river. The playground was small but looked to be in good condition. It rained most of our stay so we were unable to use the pool or playground. At night, the campground is quiet and quite dark. Very few RV's had their porch or awning lights on.
Negatives. The campground WIFI is only usable in or near the Bathhouse. Not normally a big deal, but our Verizon phones had little to no service. The fire ring was nice but looked as if someone had burned lumber in it. There were nails and screws all over around and in the fire ring. Not a deal breaker, but a watch out for little barefoot children. The campground is small and the one walking trail is nice, but could maybe use some more walking paths.
Overall, a very nice campground that we would like to visit again during better weather.

Great campground. Friendly staff and incredible bath house. The showers are all private rooms with sinks, showers and toilets in a lockable room. Extremely clean! Pet friendly and plenty of room for pets to exercise. The only downside was the hot tub was not working, and it was about the same temp as the pool. The Smokys are under 30 minutes away, some great river locations within five minutes and Knoxville is under 20 minutes away. Highly recommended
This campground is now operating under the name Whispering River. We have spent several weeks here and are loving it! The driveways and pads are gravel and we'll maintained. The bath house is kept clean and features private bathrooms with showers. Management is friendly and helpful. The view of the mountains is lovely, and the river is full of fish. Best of all, it is just under 10 miles from the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
