The campground wasn't that clean, lots of permanent residents. Also, had X-chocks stolen while in place on tires. Don't leave anything of value out or unlocked. Most spots are not level, and not very communication on reservations.
Website states level sites and all paved. Pavement is at least twenty years old with patches and holes and covered in gravel and the sites as lopsided as they come. Garbage is everywhere, likely due to only one dumpster at the exit gate. First time I've ever been to a campground with no picnic tables and the fire ring on a little mound of dead grass is impossible to put chairs around. The bathrooms are impeccable and the lady that works the front desk is a classy lady. The gameroom is closed for... Read More

The bathrooms are impeccable and the lady that works the front desk is a classy lady. The gameroom is closed for the foreseeable future, the electronic gates don't seem to work, the playground is old and rundown, perhaps even dangerous, and the Wi-Fi is the weakest, slowest I've ever seen. Oh, and the long term guests are slobs and seem to be everywhere.
Thank you for the clean bathroom and nice lady at the desk... now clean up your property! Rates are low and I still feel ripped off.

We reserved based on website pictures & description... Ugh. Potholes everywhere, mostly dilapidated long termers, but, worst of all... The entire area smells like an outhouse. Nothing like the pictures. How it ever got the good sam rating it has is beyond me. We are new at full time RV life but if this is an indicator of how well you can trust GS ratings then we will not be using them!
While our check-in was quite nice with a friendly hostess, that was the end of any good experience. Our pull-through was on a slope as were many of the sites. The roadway was full of what we call frost heave in the NE. It seemed that most of our neighbors were long-term in very old and rusted rigs, clanky air conditioners hanging out of window, junk piled all around their units, old matresses leaning against units, It was so bad, we took pictures so we could ask Good Sam to change their rating... The staff was very friendly and helpful. The store is well stocked with a good variety of items. The sites are rustic but nice. The park was noticeably noisy from nearby highway traffic. One dislike were the numerous monthly sites occupied by dilapidated RVs surrounded by unsightly storage. Good highway access. Ask about the free limo service to The Texan Steakhouse. Nice park for an overnight stay. The restrooms are very clean.
I have been a Good Sam member for over 25 years and have found your rating system fair and close to how the parks actually appear. However......the park we are presently in is so far off that it couldn't have been reviewed for many, many years. The park is the Amarillo Best Wonderland R. V. Park in Amarillo, Texas. My main concern is how your description, in both the Trailerlife book and the website lead to their website. The pictures are 100 percent deceiving regarding the roads and the pictures... Read More

My main concern is how your description, in both the Trailerlife book and the website lead to their website. The pictures are 100 percent deceiving regarding the roads and the pictures of the RVs. They can't be of this park. Most of the RVs are permanent and they allow all kinds of junk to be piled around them. The roads are unbelievable. They are old asphalt that has patches on patches on patches. The sites are the same. Anything over 1 to 2 miles per hour will jar your teeth out. The park is on a downhill slope so the rain just washes the roads and site pads away. On the good side, checking in was very pleasant and the restrooms/showers are very clean.

At one time, may have been nice, but is showing its age badly. Roads are tooth-rattlers, sites are paved, but uneven and cracked. Our site went downhill past the trailer, leaving the truck pointed down from the trailer. There are permanent residents, whose sites are unsightly. Price was very reasonable, but next trip through there, will try the other Good Sam park, and not return here.
