Nice campground. Sun Resorts seems to be concentrating more to potential Park Model owners, than visitors. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The staff was friendly during check in. Pools are large and clean. Not happy about the "Resort Fee", but Sun Retreats was upfront telling us about the fee when registering.
PROS: The bathrooms are nice and clean. The staff seemed friendly during the limited interaction I had with them and willing to put us near our friends in the park. Pool is big and has games nearby to play. Close to restaurants, Wal-Mart, Schlitterbahn and tubing rivers. Fitness facility is large with free weights and machines. It was quiet at night CONS:This place sends a conflicting message about trying to be family friendly. They only allow two people per RV spot and then charge $10 per night... Read More

CONS:This place sends a conflicting message about trying to be family friendly. They only allow two people per RV spot and then charge $10 per night per person. So, if you have a family of five, you're going to pay an additional $30 per night. All spots are gravel and ours was uneven. There's no shade - none. Even the premium spots are far from the pool. This place seems to be more concerned with their cottages than the RV spots.

This RV park seems very appealing for families. (Thus a high appeal rating) people that worked there were friendly. The park was clean in all the locations I visited. ( outside pool, playground, 1 of 3 laundry sites) However, right out of the gate I should have suspected otherwise. Rv sites are for 2 persons only, yet they market the family atmosphere and have tons of family amenities. They actually charge $5 per day per person over two people. So my family of 5 had an additional $210 charge for... Read More

So my family of 5 had an additional $210 charge for 2 weeks. Also, our first spot (had to move after 1st week)and several others around the park, had over-grown trees rubbing on your rv and an unlevel pad (gravel). Some of the trees prevented you from using your awning. We were there for a job my husband was supposed to do for 2 weeks and the job got extended to a month. So, when I went to extend our stay from 2 weeks to 1 month , they wouldn't prorate the time we had already stayed. If I had added another 2 weeks I would have paid twice the price of a monthly rental. So, all that to say, the place has GREAT appeal and looks for families but you WILL PAY FOR IT. And for that reason I give it poor reviews and do NOT recommend this RV park. BTW if you have a work-need for WiFi it is unreliable at best.

1. This is not a place for a quiet getaway. It is close to the highway and there is quite a bit of traffic and road noise. But it is close to plenty of attractions and restaurants. 2. Excellent pools and hot tubs. There are 3 pools and hot tubs. One outdoor and two indoor. All clean and well maintained. 3. Laundry facilities. There are two, both clean. $1.50 per load. 4. Nice setup for entertaining kids. There is a swing/slide layout, a jungle gym, a web net, two inflated bouncy play areas, a... Read More

4. Nice setup for entertaining kids. There is a swing/slide layout, a jungle gym, a web net, two inflated bouncy play areas, a ball toss area, a volleyball court and several indoor event areas with pool tables and arcade areas.
5. Their rates are on the high end, but between the facilities and the proximity to all the New Braunfels attraction, they can get a higher price.
6. The Internet was sporadic and unreliable and the water pressure excellent. We did not use the TV hookup.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you you plan to use this as a base for the local attractions or have children and enjoy spending time at the pool. We will be returning.

Nice amenities at the park (pools, etc.), however found it to be very cramped, with spaces very close together. There seems to be a lot of permanent residents at the park and the last time we were there, seemed a little more run down that our previous visits this past summer. Wifi worked, and verizon and att cell phone worked great. Very close to stores and shopping. We were in a pull through, camped in a motorhome. Stayed for a month.
Very dissapointed in our stay, first my site was unlevel along with my neighbors. The trees between sites and roadways were overgrown. My site had fireants. To top things off, when I arrived at the campground my tow car battery was dead, when I called the office for help they advised me that it was thier policy not to jump start anyone. To say the least we won't be staying there in the future.
