Gold Brook, like the other review states, is the only show in town. I camp there every August during the antique auto show. (but I couldn't select August, so had to select September) It is a good middle of the road place to stay. I have been going there for many years. My family camps a lot; we have been to a lot of worse and to a lot better. The owner/manager is a bit crusty and cranky, but people need to realize that they are camping and not staying at a $300 per night B & B in downtown Stowe. An... Read More

An extension cord is necessary, as is a water hose with a "Y" fitting. Most sites share a water connection. The site that I rent only has a 15 amp electric receptacle.
The reservation process is "old school": call-leave a message, call back-leave another message, and finally call back again and someone, hopefully, answers the phone. This is OK with me, as I now expect it. I am also usually calling in February for an August reservation. I am sure that it would be a little better if I was calling in season.
I will continue to stay here every time I go to the Stowe area, as it is the only place to accommodate travel trailers or motor homes.
The bathrooms are adequate and there are dish sinks at the comfort stations. They have a dump station. They also have a clean swimming pool. Just a short drive from Stowe. Remember, you are camping!

We've been camping at Gold Brook for over 25 years. Other than cutting the grass on a continual basis not one improvement has been made. The road is good. Many full hookup sites are side-by-side so you have to watch your slideout, and you may have to park "head in". The setting is beautiful. This could be a first class campground. Limited cable available on full sites. Very limited wi-fi. Unfortunately the owner/manager is not concerned with customer relations, he just rents the sites. This is... Read More

This is the only campground convenient to Stowe so he has a "lock" on this market. Still using the old "Ouigi board" for scheduling, getting a reservation or finding a site open can be a painful, prolonged experience for the camper.
