This is no longer a KOA. Now Spacious Skies Shenandoah Valley. Years ago was Good Sam then KOA now apparently independent. Wife loves this park because of Luray's Green Way where we walk. I have a different opinion. If you like flies, dust and manure smells this is the place for you. Our last trip they put us in a site where the neighboring site "shared" the outdoor space. When I asked to get a different site they wanted $16+ more per night. WIFI is slower than dialup. Never again!

We just spent 4 nights here and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The sites are sufficiently distanced and well maintained. We had a mountain view site (#62) with patio and pergola. The staff we interacted with were very polite and eager to please. The restrooms, showers and laundry rooms are impeccable with a private feel. The pool area looked beautiful. Our wifi was reliable. They are pet friendly and have a GREAT bark park. Very close to Luray Caverns within 5 minutes. Shopping (Walmart)... Read More

I did not smell the cow pasture as others have stated in their reviews. My only recommendation would be to add cable service, but you can get a few channels with a basic RV antenna. I can't recommend this park enough!!

This is probably the nicest, best maintained KOA we've booked. The sites are large, the scenery beautiful. Easy access to Shenandoah Natl Park and the town of Luray. The dog park is awesome! Why 4 stars? Three negatives. 1. When the wind died down the overwhelming smell of cow manure/urine was unbearable. Not unpleasant, unbearable. You couldn't be outside or open windows inside. 2. The wifi was unusable, even after most of the guests left we could not get a usable connection. 3. Two... Read More

The wifi was unusable, even after most of the guests left we could not get a usable connection. 3. Two of the four washers were out of order when we were there. This was a relatively minor inconvenience but nevertheless affects the rating. It was hot but the pool does not open until May 21. I wish they had sped that up to give some respite from the heat. As much as I really loved the sites and grounds I probably won't return because of the manure.

Beautiful facility with large, spacious, and level sites, most with FHU. Friendly staff, excellent maintenance, and a very peaceful and serene setting. Cows in the adjacent fields add ambience and a real feeling of being in the countryside. There is an occasional faint whiff of farm field, but all part of the peaceful ambience. There is the largest dog play area I have seen anywhere with trees and a nice sitting area. Overall a terrific setting. Some RVs are setup for longer stays, but the entire... Read More

This is an outstanding campground. The views from it are breathtaking. The overall appearance of the campground is exceptional. The sites are well kept and very appealing. There is a gas station/mini market just across the road. It is located a few miles north of the town of Luray and only a few minutes from Skyline drive. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My dog enjoyed the dog run area. A very quiet campground. Overall an outstanding stay. We will be back!

This was our second visit the Luray KOA and it is just as nice as it was the first time. It features nice, modern facilities including a new swimming pool. There is plenty of space between sites and most are situated to take advantage of the incredible views. The owners live on site and it is obvious they love their business. The landscaping is first class and well tended. The only negative point is access to the park. As they say on their website, don't follow your GPS. Call ahead for directions... Read More

We accessed from Route 340 with no problem, but the GPS route can get big rigs in trouble. Otherwise, this is a great place to visit and enjoy the attractions of the Shenandoah Valley.
