First time staying here and would not recommend it. They don't enforce their quiet time. People blasting music and being loud way pass 11:30pm. Electrical hook-up be careful, the moment I flipped the breaker it started smoking because the outlet was infested with ants and it was burning them. Water pressure is not that great neither. I barely got 20PSI. The free Wifi they offer is no good. You barely get a signal. For the price, I would go someplace else.
Very noisy with people shouting and playing loud, booming music past 11:30 PM. They don't seem to be enforcing the quiet hours, so don't expect a peaceful experience or a quiet night to sleep.
My family and I stayed at Holiday Trav-L-Park mid July. We were not impressed one bit. The lot we reserved was supposed to be a "gravel" lot and it was everything but. It was a mixture of sand, dirt, cigarette butts, above ground exposed tree stumps, and a couple gravels mixed in. (it was very powdery and tracks everywhere in your camper). This is lot 208, so I HIGHLY recommend you not place a reservation for that one. The General store is not only EXPENSIVE which to be honest I kinda expected... Read More

It makes the Dollar General stores appear high class compared to them.
Holiday Trav-L-Park honestly has great potential but obviously they are NOT putting money back into the campsite. If you do decide to stay here, trust me and reserve the nicer premium lots if they are available. If they aren't, look to camp somewhere else. If you are camping in "general population" and not in the premium section it honestly feels like your camping in a NASCAR infield.

Recently we came home from a pleasant vacation with my son traveling in his Tiffin Allegra Class-A RV. We use campsites listed as "good" from the Good Sam website. We were greeted Halloween Night with friendliness and Halloween "scary" chocolate treats. Our camp site was very spacious compared to other sites listed on the Good Sam website with a higher rating of ten. The Holiday Trav-L-Park RV sites are well maintained with attractive landscaping. The site is supported with a small convenience store with all the travel necessities. Campground activities include a pool, miniature golf, and hay rides. Other campground improvements are under construction.
The owners of this campsite were very friendly, courteous, and kind to this 88-year-old grandmother. I strongly recommend this campsite to all RV travelers. Good Sam should increase the rating for this campsite to a ten.

It is 10:19 in the evening and there are 2 competing trailers trying to see who can play there music the loudest. To make some noise I can see but being 50 yards from the closest trailer playing, is ridiculous. The quiet hours are 11 to 8 so I can not really call the security guys. But if this were a neighborhood I would have called a long time ago. If this is a sign of how Holiday Trav-L-Parks are run then I will avoid any of them in the future. If this is a sign of how Holiday Trav-L-Parks are run then I will avoid any of them in the future. This is the 2nd night in a row that this has gone on. My guess is that these parks being as enormous as they are do not want persons such as ourselves in the park.

Large family campground a few miles from Virginia Beach's boardwalk area. Has all the amenities that you would expect at a family resort in VB. We stayed during the off-season, so most of the activities were closed (pools, store, trolley to beach, etc.). We received off-season rates, but still seemed expensive, but all the public RV parks are expensive in VB. There are different areas in the campground, offering varied levels of amenities, site spacing, paved vs. gravel pads (and cost). WIFI was... Read More

Laundry was excellent. Overall park condition was well-used, but acceptable. The management is very friendly and helpful. This would be a great place to let the kids run wild in the summer. Lots of Navy jet fighter noise from Oceana air station nearby (consider it the sound of freedom and enjoy the air show). Overall, we think it was a great stay. Largest negative was the high price. Would return.

We had a wonderful stay, and we would definitely consider staying here again due to its location to the beach, beach parking, friendly and helpful staff, and close proximity to local friends. The only minuses to the place are cellular reception (internet not good - phone calls worked fine) and wifi (may have great reception; however, backhaul into the internet was slow to non-existant at times). The park has great swimming pools, and we will make better use of them next time we stay there. Some... Read More

For me, it was not a problem ... it is the sound of freedom. I've also been told that the park is extremely packed during 4th of July. The whole Virginia Beach area is packed, so if you are somewhat of an introvert, this area may not be a good fit at that time. I think if you go here you will be pleased with your choice. :-)

Stayed here for a night in July and then for a week in August. This is a tremendously busy/popular campground. I did read the reviews and understand why some folks would be put off....however for our family it was a great experience. The campground is very close to the Naval Air Base and YES our troops are launching and landing fighter Jets throughout the day, that protect our great country so I take pride in hearing the roar of those powerful weapons. The amenities were plentiful and offered so much for kids and teens. Prices were ok. The campground staff was very nice, friendly and knowledgable about the area. The campground has a FREE Parking lot at Virginia Beach 2 blocks off the strip. The lot fills up fast and is a bit tight, but it is free and only 2 blocks away from the ocean. The regular sites are tight but offer enough space to stretch out. 3-4 pools are located throughout the campground. We found 2 nearby hidden gems - Crotan Beach and Sandbridge Beach, less crowded and offered great parking.

The campground is nice and close to the beach with private parking. That is a plus. Our first night we were in site 122 near the main pool. We were not aware that there was LOUD live music every night from 8 - 11pm. We could hear it clearly from inside of our camper. The first site was very close to neighbors on all sides (left, right, front & back). We made it through our first night, but we were frustrated and looking towards a whole week feeling cramped with no sleep. We contacted the office... Read More

The first site was very close to neighbors on all sides (left, right, front & back). We made it through our first night, but we were frustrated and looking towards a whole week feeling cramped with no sleep. We contacted the office the next morning and they allowed us to relocate to a new site (site 242). Wow what a huge difference. The site was much longer & wider in a different section. Close to 3 bathhouses/comfort stations. We had room to spread out and didn't feel like we were on top of our neighbors. Much better.
On to the bathhouses - the first one near us smelled of sewage. It was pretty and looked up to date, and clean, but it just had a terrible smell.
The next one (Comfort station 3) was very clean (most of the time) but not updated and very very hot in mid-july. The only other one we visited was near the pavilion. 2 of the sinks were missing faucet handles and only 3 of the toilets were working.
Golf carts are everywhere. Some are driven by kids. If you are driving around watch out. I had to dodge a few staff members too. They do not obey the road signs. Also we observed a lot of people drinking & driving carts & vehicles. Thankfully no one was hurt, but security does not patrol.
The campground has over 700 sites. There is a huge turnover daily. It is hard for the staff to keep up with every detail (like making sure our site had a picnic table) and that all rules are enforced so people can get away with whatever.
Some people are just slobs and do not respect the property.
Even though this review may sound negative, we really did have a good time. We are planning a return trip next year. We just know what to expect.

We stayed here before season really started early in May. We were in a super site that was beautiful. We didn't use most of the amenities because we are fully contained, but we did go in and look at the bath houses, they were nice and the laundry is probably about the nicest I've seen in an RV park, it's huge and like going to a regular laundry mat. The pool near us looked very nice, too cold out for us, but there were some kids swimming while we were there. You will hear the jets fly over,... Read More

Every review we read really made us think this place wasn't that good. We were pleasantly surprised! Staff was friendly and accommodating! Site was fine, some tree roots that were bumpy but what are you going to do?!? No problem with any late night noise (and we were there on "redneck" celebration weekend)! Pools were great! Roads could use to be repaved but as big as the park is that would be quite expensive and an undertaking! Overall great place to stay and we will surely go back!
We stayed for over a week for a business and vacation trip in June with our toddler. Having read some reviews on other sites, we asked not to be in the "party" area which they gave us a good site that was quiet and having good neighbors was key. Unfortunately, not all the pools were open and it was a hot week. Due to lack of staff from what we were told, the main pool was not open until later at times so we had to go check before getting all suited up with a toddler wanting to swim. The cleaning... The cleaning staff at the laundry center was very nice and helped me get a refund on a broken washer. We did not use the restrooms so I can not comment on the cleanliness. The trash dumpsters were in need of emptying at times which I can imagine deals with the large volume of the campground. Location was convenient to everything we needed in area. If you are looking for a more family environment and quiet area, my advice would be to make that clear if making a reservation or look at other options.

We were impressed with this campground. It was very clean and quiet during our stay, and every staff person we encountered was more than pleasant and extremely helpful. The only complaint we had was the HRT trolley to the Beach/Boardwalk ended Labor Day weekend and wasn't available the end of September -- poor research on our part. We will definitely stay at this campground when we come to Virginia Beach in the future.
The people here were very rude and do not tell the truth. When you say that your super sites will accommodate someone maybe you should be sure! Very difficult to navigate with a trailer in tow with a Class A, loud all night, absolutely no water pressure, cable tv in our site didn't work, old campers parked all around the campground for storage, young kid at the guard shack did not want to let us back in the campground after we left to go to the beach for the day--standing there smoking cigarettes... The place in general is run down and in need of rehab. I did on the other hand feel safe and it is in a good location that is the only 2 positive experiences I had while staying here. We travel 30k miles per year and have never been compelled to leave a review about a campground until I stayed here. =(

Nice place. Nice location, but if you are looking for even a little bit of peace and quiet, forget about this campground. Between the loud music at the pool party that happens every night from 7pm to 11pm and the roar of jet planes every 30 seconds from 8am to 11pm, we could not get out of there fast enough.
