We stayed 3 nights to visit national park system sites in the area while traveling through the area. The park is a nice oasis in an arid region but with limitations & challenges. It is just off the main highway between the highway/railroad tracks and the river. The interior road & parking pads are paved. The interior road is narrow, one-way, with some tight turns, and designated & over flow parallel parking creating a challenge to maneuver larger RV's. Limited registration & unhooking parking... The interior road & parking pads are paved. The interior road is narrow, one-way, with some tight turns, and designated & over flow parallel parking creating a challenge to maneuver larger RV's. Limited registration & unhooking parking near the camp host site where you check in. The parking along the one-way street could interfere with maneuvering to back in. Saw vehicles seen going the wrong way along the RV site row including City employees.
All of the RV's sites are paved back-ins with a slight slope - lower in the rear. They are long enough to park an RV and another vehicle. Sites had sufficient room for opening slides. The majority of the parking pads face Northwest to Southeast so there is shade created by RV's on the patio side. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. The electric & water connections towards front of site. Sewer connection at rear of site at ground level so establishing a downhill flow is dependent on the discharge point. Distance and grassy areas establish privacy between the sites. All sites have an outside table, fire pit and tent pad.
Watched tent campers walking through RV sites (btwn 13 & 14) to reach tent sites (#1-8) when not parking in designated parking spaces.
The landscaping is new so there is nothing to interfere with satellite reception. An employee string trimming threw small rocks against the side of our coach. No cable. No information about OTA broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels.
No park provided WiFi. Our Verizon WiFi hotspot worked well. Didn't use the NET10 phone so don't know about reception.
No designated fenced pet area. Don't remember there being any bag dispensers or collection stations for waste but there were a couple of dumpsters scattered along the road. There was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park's roads and a walking path along the river.
TIP: Must make reservation through ReserveAmerica.com (888-836-8762). Fee: $7. The area is subject to some strong wind gusts off the river/lake.

The individual campsites are nice, all the same size with same privacy. They always manage to keep the grass green. The bathrooms are always clean and hot showers are free! The campground hosts do a fantastic job. The problems are mostly all location related. The beach and lawns near the water are covered in goose poop. When you enter the water from the beach it is disgustingly mushy/ muddy, probably with a good amount of goose poop. The water is FILLED with grass growing almost to the water's... Read More

When you enter the water from the beach it is disgustingly mushy/ muddy, probably with a good amount of goose poop. The water is FILLED with grass growing almost to the water's surface which constantly gets sucked up into my watercraft, plugging it up. It's not just at the shore, either. The river here is littered with huge patches of grass floating along the top, like giant lilypads dotting the surface.
Great for kayaking, paddle boarding but not so much motorboats and swimming. There is also a sandbar nearby that provides a sandy hangout - but it is a bit of a walk past the end of the campground.

Absolutely wonderful newer park, can't wait for the shade tress to get a little taller. Great walking and bike riding trails, playground for the grand kids, beautiful views from every site of the majestic Columbia River. We have stayed here many times and always wait for our return visit.
